Super Smash Bros Discussion Thread

Actually, I'm not so sure about that, pretty sure I saw the stars and planet intact, so its more like an extreme danmaku feat (like really extreme). Probably a luminosity feat though

They must really hate talking then. For Red it goes beyond just being the protagonist in an rpg, he refuses to talk even as an NPC.

I'm personally hoping that we'll have a 2-A or above Nintendo character some day.

And kirby is the one who managed to survive death and outlive everyone again. I honestly think kirby is secretly the most powerful nintendo character.

I also find it wierd how normal smash fighters are able to take out master hands now. who view arceus as a statue.

when the game comes out and we see the final boss fight then i guess there might be revisions. i mean, kirby lived through a (minimum) galactic or even a universal explosion. it did vaporize planets and if we look closer behind the galaxy we can see a bunch of coudy stars which signifies that those are also galaxies. basically it is a 3-B or 3-A feat in my opinion. i still cannot judge though cause it might've done more or less damage than that. guess we can only wait.

Well, now we have an least galaxy level enemy that completely bopped the cast. Very interesting design, too.
Edit: Also that black hole is one of most realistic black holes I've seen in a bit outside of the electricity.
It's galaxy level over time, not all at once. It's more likely that the big wave of light is actually just trillions upon trillions of the littler rays of light that are packed up into a group so dense that it looked like a big mass, and we see right here that they only induce fragmentation. So it's not like each individual ray is planet to galaxy level. They destroyed the planets because the danmaku was that dense.

However the rays of light seemed to cross the entire galaxy in about 5 seconds so that could be an MFTL+ reaction feat, since we saw some of the characters reacting to and blocking them.

Also, yeah, that black hole could be a legitimate black hole feat, especially since it pulls all of the surrounding light and distorts the space around it.

@Dragon well now is the biggest chance lol

@Cal Earth is the strongest Smash character confirmed

In all seriousness though, why is everyone treating it as an ap feat when we see that everything else is intact? The only thing that got destroyed were the individual planets which were annihilated by just sheer overpowered danmaku.

The Direct just killed every hope I had for Smash being canon to the featured franchises. Feels bad man...

Xenosaga isn't actually owned by Nintendo though; I wish it was though. And I could find loop holes to upgrade Alvis to 2-A but iffy about that. Though, he should be At least 2-C pretty soon.

Mother ******, my boy Link was the first one to die.

At least he actually fought like a man and was able to deflect a beam or two with his shield, something no one else was able to do, *cough* Palutena *cough*.

And did Kirby just accelerate into teleportation? How fast was that anyway?

@Bobiscan really? I'm pretty sure nothing that we didn't already know was introduced in the direct in regards to canonicity.

All of the "real world" parts sound very non canon unlike what even Smash 64 brought up.

Rethinking it, I now still have some hope for it, as it coudl just mean an higher plane of existance, which could even lead to High 2-A Nintendo characters.

@Arceus0x

Why do you say that? Unless there's something in canon that says "lol nope that didn't actually happen" I don't see the point in refraining from talking about the feats. If we find a better feat after release we can simply revise again.

Aww. dangit, my boy Isaac didn't make it. Had high hopes this was the chance for him and Golden Sun to have a spot, especially after falling into obscurity for almost ten years.

Story mode looks hype as hell! Really digging voice acted cutscenes. Hope the lack of an English VA doesn't hurt Roy or Cloud's (Jap only) nor Megaman (completely silent) chance to have a part in it. Link is safe, though, no way Nintendo is leaving behind one of their golden boys.

Just hope that Kirby isn't the main hero or a spotlight stealer and they share the protagonism with other iconic characters from Nintendo such as Mario or Link (and hopefully Samus). Hate it when crossovers end up shilling a particular character. In that regard the very first Dissidia kind of nailed it by having every hero have their own chapter and the Warrior of Light being the closest thing to a protagonist simply by being the leader, it felt everyone got their time to shine.

The deconfirmations during the Assist Trophy and Mii Costumes sections were the equivalent to Thanos snapping his fingers.
