Save The World: Chapter 2

Inside the discussion room is what appears to be a fancy looking place, with a large table and a lot of chairs. There's also a coffee machine and coffee cups.

DJ has been waiting for you all.

"Well, seems we are missing some people. In the meantime, take a sit." He says, drinking some coffee.

Melanie, meanwhile, quickly rushes into the discussion room, her staff seen in her hands for a mere millisecond before suddenly going off into the hammerspace she stores everything in. She sighed as she took a seat at the table. "What's going on here? Sorry, ran a bit late. Snuck out to go feed my frogs."

I take a seat [as I realize that important stuff was actually happening]

Loping past those already sitting, I quickly pull up a chair, turning it backwards before sitting. Emptying my contents between myself and the chair back, I become Spider Monkey to aid putting food in my mouth as I wait.

DJ finishes taking a sip out of his coffee. He puts the cup down in the tabble.

"Well, i guess we'll have to do without the people who weren't here. Be sure to tell them about it later."

He coughs a bit, and starts speaking.

"Ok, so, there's been a interesting turn of events happening, which i didn't expect. Apperently, None's corruption is leaving scars open in these universes, which seem to be creating holes in reality. These holes are leaking the universes out into the Void. Normally, the parts leaking would be erased, but it seems that the leaking is actually still counted as part of the universe, therefore it is not erased."

He takes a deep breath, then grabs his cup, which is suddely filled with water, and takes a sip. He puts the cup down.

"Now, why am i telling you all this? Well, it seems those leaking parts have been colliding with other universes, essencially mashing and fusing them together, slowly. Now, this wouldn't be a problem, but it seems that it's been happening since None started acting. My theory is that those holes start small, until they eventually become huge."

He looks at your expressions while you listen to him. Like he's analysing you.

"Now, this may sound like a very negative thing at first, and normally, it would be. Buuuuutttttttttt, i have a theory for this."

He takes out a screen from the ceiling, and starts writting his hypothesis on it with a cybernetic pen.

"So, a Stereo Sphere is, as you all know, the essence of a universe. Us, the Chosen, can unlock it's true potencial, basically absorbing this essence into us. Now, if a universe fuses with another universe, both of these essences would combine into one, logically. If one universe fuses with another one, the result would be a brand new universe, so a brand new Stereo Sphere is to be expected as well. Now, say, a Stereo Sphere gives you 10 points of essence. A fused universe would have a Stereo Sphere that gives you 20 points of essence. So, the plan is, find a universe which has been fused, and which we have a chance of obtaining the Stereo Sphere, and enter it, because we would gain much more power from it than from your normal everyday Stereo Sphere."

He takes a second to breathe, then continues.

"However, this is a risky plan, since those are all very... specific conditions to be meet, therefore we are unlikely to run into one of these for the time being. I want you all to keep this in the back of your head, because while we won't run into a fused universe which is viable for exploration any time soon, at any moment we may find one of these, and it's important to always be prepared for the unexpected."

He finishes writing on the screen. Through all of this, he has maintained a blank, expressionless face. It seems he's been researching this for many lifes, and the most observing of you can tell he's really tired. He, once again, grabs his cup of water, and drinks it until there's nothing left. He looks back at The Chosen again.

"Do you understand what i had to say?" he asks you, in a strangely curious voice.

Kisetsu has a visibly hard time trying to understand what DJ just said. "Maaaaaaybe...?" She doesn't understand at all.

"I'll tell you ... despite having the incredible intellect of Imix ... I have understood almost nothing of your metaphysical tangle of words, but one thing I understand ... or rather two"

"The first is that we must be ready for everything, obviously"

"And the second ... it's probably an incalculable number of people have died, am I right?" I ask.

Melanie frowned, staring intently as DJ spoke, acted, drew, gesture, did anything that he had done throughout his spiel. This was...intriguing. Melanie watched every little bit of magic or warping of reality that he had done, not only watching him carefully to take in information as he laid it out, but to also see if she knew a sure fire way to recreate the things that he did. Most of it...seemed like a resounding failure, but she understood the information given to her.

"Twice the power, twice the trouble," Melanie commented, as she was pretty sure that was how it could work. She shook her head as she leaned forward, her arms resting across the table as she stared at DJ, their multiversal mentor. "Isn't a double stereo sphere just going to attract more attention from None as well? I mean, they'd be on the lookout for this stuff too, yes?"

The memories of the Universe beforehand were still fresh in her mind. That General was strong, even if he said he was weaker compared to the others. He only had one sphere on his side. What would happen if those creatures had the power of two spheres? She...frankly didn't want to think about it.

@Blank

"Basically? Yeah." He took out of his pocket a snack, and started eating it. He seems relaxed and calm this time.

@Jacky

"Yes, you are right, little one. However, we work at risk here. And i'd say that the reward of getting one of these is worth the risk. I understand you're nervous about it, but at this point, we need to do advance this, fast." he said, still eating his snack.

"Alright, but it could take us too long to find one. The conditions of finding one are...already pretty low, right?" Melanie frowned slightly as she opened her her hand in a questioning gesture, palm pointed at the ceiling. "I mean, do you really think it's worth possibly wasting time on it? How long would we spend trying to find one of these double spheres?"

As she spoke, a chair leg suddenly appeared in her hand. She blinked and, well...swallowed it, before continuing. Guess she was hungry... "I'm just saying it's...very risky sounding, and time consuming."

"I take it we still have time before one of these Stereo Sphere x2 show up? Or did I unironically jinx us by asking?"

My tail emptying a pack of chips into my mouth as I finish the question.

Kisetsu sits there trying to comprehend what DJ said about the multiverse and the stero spheres. She fails miserably at it.

@Jacky

"Yes, i get it. We won't be waiting for one of these to show up, if we find a normal Stereo Sphere, we go with that. However, if we do find a 2x Stereo Sphere first, that's the one we are gonna get. We won't be actively searching one or another, we will go with what appears first."

@Blank

"Likely, yes. Though many have already popped up, they either have been corrupted or are out of our weight class."

@Cinnabar

Although you try to search for a specific timeframe, you are unable to find it. It seems Stereo Sphere's interfere with precognition and make it barely accurate.

However, from your brief search, the chances of you finding one of these over a normal Stereo Sphere is that of 1%.

"I have one thing to say," I exclaim, raising my hand.

"Lately I have dreams, but they seem more like visions ... perhaps related to Draugr's ability to see the future"

"Anyway ... those visions were about me ... even though they were more like nightmares," I explain, lowering my eyes slightly.

"I never see the place where I am ... it is always surrounded by flames ... and there is only me ... and at some point ... I become huge ... but not like when I am in the form of giant ... no ... I become something ... monstrous ... I can't even describe ... the only thing I remember before waking up ... are two eyes ... yellow ...a sickly yellow-black eyes "

I look up at DJ.

"Do you think this can be connected with the next Stereo Sphere?"

"Sounds more like you need a therapist," Melanie said with a grin, the faint image of a blonde witch woman sitting next to her on thin air. "Either way...I'm sure we'll find it whenever we find it...hopefully that's soon, though..."

@Faruel

"Hmmm. Well, it doesn't seem to be related, but if it has to do with your precognitive abilities, it's worth keeping a eye out for it. I'll see what i can do with that."

Yuno: "I see....for that to be the case..."

That must mean that the next one will be much better than the previous ones.

Yuni: "Interesting...indeed."

Yuno: "..."

I thought I might be able to get rid of her at any time....when it said the only way to get rid of a clone is death...my eyes don't seem to lie. I can even find out about my own abilities in great depth using them.

In the meantime, Boris was busy sharpening a surfboard with a swordfish. "Ain't nobody's stopping us from getting the next Stereo Sphere, wherever it may be!" The reptile commented confidently.

@Crimson

More multiversal sheningas uh

"So, if two universes fuse then their stereo spheres fuse too, but could it be possible for more than 2 universes to fuse togheter ?"

I ask

"According to Imix, in theory it could ... if the universes are compatible, there could be two types ... a huge universe containing planets and stars of both or ... one in which the timeline of a universe has amalgamated with that of another, leading to a fusion of events "I explain, turning to Natalie.

"At least from what Imix assumes, probably what is happening here could be something completely different."

"You are welcome" I exclaim, then take a glass and drink.

I widen my eyes as I feel my tongue burn.

"Ahh! Water! This is the fifth time it happens to me!" I exclaim, tossing the glass away.

"Stupid Imix and stupid fire physiology!" I snort, crossing my arms.

[small question, Draugr as an undead should not have some form of resistance to ice? It comes from the northern mythologies and certainly the cold does not lack]

[I don't think, corpses actually freeze more easilly than living beings

also Midgardians usually don't have magic, so they wouldn't even need that resistance to kill them]

[This seems to make sense, but I remind you that Draugr is not a "normal" corpse]

"Oh yeah ... just laugh at my sufferings, but we'll sell if you laugh again when I'm thrown into a pretty deep puddle and I'll die," I reply, showing an annoyed pout.
