RWBY Vol 9 General Discussion Thread: Multiverse Of Therapy

So Team RWBY beat Batman in the initial fight and caught him off guard several times and he only won round 2 because he developed a precognition semblance halfway through. Man the anti-RWBY squad is gonna hate this.

He did in the second one but they won pretty handily in the first round, his win was mostly due to developing precog throughout the fight which fully developed by the second round which is what allowed him to beat them, but without it they would have won

*All characters gaining Awaken Power via evolving their Semblance
*The gods having likely Inorganic Physiology
*Aura granting Resistance to Possession
*Auras Heat Resistance needs to be updated to account for them withstanding the temperature of lightning (as Lightning Dust is actual lightning, meaning it's as hot as it and Ren and multiple others survived getting hit by it without burn marks (Nora getting lightning scars is because she overcharged her Semblance and went so far her Aura broke after attacking once))
*Star to possibly Universe level gods

Okay. Now that the abilities thread is finished, these are the only things left which still require scans. Also, the Colossus needs to be updated to 7-C since it scales to Post Haven RWBY and JNPR, who were recently upgraded.

For the Yang thing its mostly because its never been a flat 2x multiplier, ever since her semblance was revealed its mechanics have been that it doubles the amount of energy from how many times she was hit, each hit she takes gets absorbed, stored, and then doubled (ie. if she gets hit once, she hits back with 2x energy but if she gets hit 10 times she hits with 20x energy)

For the Salem thing she outright says that her soul transcends death in The Lost Fable, coupled with her type 8 immortality from the curse the brothers gave her

What changed people’s minds about it?
 
However many hits she can take before her aura goes down, iirc Spinorr calced it at ~40 from her fight with Adam, albeit that number is likely higher since she absorbed multiple moonslices from Adam, whose semblance works the same way as hers
That’s assuming she can tank the hit in the first place, right?
 
Weekly can probably be the one to count how much yang gets hit in her fight with Mercury and Adam as those two fights show her current limits

Not really no, theres a lot of characters on the wiki who already apply this metric with no issue
So wait. If aura is like a health bar, but a character can tank multiple city block levels of attacks, wouldn’t that mean that their overall durability would be higher?

Not physically, just their aura, which goes down significantly faster if theyre hit by much stronger attacks. Aura doesnt really have a set durability, as it can also be brought down by a significant number of weaker attacks.

That makes sense. But if their aura, which is basically their main durability, gets taken down by attacks smaller attacks that are still in the town level of power, would that mean that their HP is much higher than we thought? It's kinda like Snorlax. He has eh defenses but a shit ton of HP which can allow him to aborb hits.

Their aura isnt their main durability, they still take the full brunt of attacks theyre hit with, it just doesnt do any physical harm to them (Yang even outright says that she feels all of the hits she takes, which is why Adam's semblance is 'cheap' because he just absorbs damage through his sword). They are still High 8-C/8-A/7-C/Low 7-B in durability and AP without their aura.

I know. Still, the limit to where they can take damage without physical harm to them seems pretty high and should be accounted for. They basically have two health bars and, as of now, I feel like we are only focusing on one.
 
What I am proposing is that aura should be categorized more as an HP bar then just durability. Many times in the series we see that aura has been shown as a bar of energy like in a video game, like in Jaune's sparing match in V1, the Vytal Festival matches in V3, and how scroll can track aura. Basically, I think we need to see how much it cumulatively takes for an aura depleted by multiple attacks in order to gauge truly how much their aura can take before it goes away.
 
Okay. So before we do the rest of the abilities, we should make a thread to fix both the speed and LS of the profiles and add justifications, as stated here, as well as adding travelling speed.
We dont really have any movement speed calcs done for the verse but lifting strength is easy, Rusty made some updates and we have ten calcs that are ready to be applied to the profiles

That’s fine, but I think we can do the added justifications for FTL as well as fix the mistake on Blake’s profile since it was already accepted in the speed thread. Just need to link it.
