I have a hard time keeping up with all of my tasks currently. Are you all willing to regularly help out in this thread please?
This is not necessarily true, I'll note. We get dozens of sign-ups per day, and on average have over 10-15x more users not signed in compared to signed in users- there's a great number of individuals potentially joining the site, meaningfully, for the first time each day.Usually if someone joins a community the same day they make an account, its usually to troll or the like, though thats not exactly 100% fool proof
Whatever the other evidence is (and I think most of the earlier suggested evidence is basically sound)- I cannot abide by using the Discord names. I ought to note that I do not know the exact mechanics of the Discords linked there, but I assure you those cannot be their actual Discord names, nor is this remotely uncommon. The identifier numbers are five digits long, Discord has only ever used four. Furthermore, from what I can gather based on my observations in verifying accounts, it seems like Fandom occasionally automatically generates a phony Discord handle for users- I don't know what conditions would require this, but over half of the time an account has a Discord handle attached to it, it is just their username on Fandom followed by five digits (making it invalid).I don't think it's necessary. They both literally have "aka Hades" in their profiles.
Further, they both have linked discords that is simply their fandom account name (not unheard of, but still). They are both named after characters from the same series with pfps of that character, neither have any edits or posts, and both have an overlapping pattern of behavior and interests in verses.
This person wasn't trying to hide it particularly hard, it seems. I don't think we need to overthink this.
That's super odd. Thanks for the info. Nix the discord part then, fortunately the rest is fairly decisive. The identifier numbers are five digits long, Discord has only ever used four. I agree with these pointsI have looked at it now. I think you are correct. Here are the relevant points of overlap:
1) Both primarily comment on Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, and Naruto
2) Both are rude
3) The SeiyaRyuSeiKen account has the nickname "Hades"
4) Both have insulted the wiki as a whole
5) Both have said they've been "watching the wiki for years" before making an account.
6) Both are named after Saint Seiya characters.
That's sufficient for me. This is indeed a sock of that user, and should thus likely be permanently banned.

A stern warning should probably be sufficient, as it didn't feature real world people, or anything particularly offensive. There wasn't even any outright nudity, and except for the man wearing a chain collar, it seemed rather tasteful.Death Battle Season Ten Discussion Thread (1) (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I apologise if I caused offence. I just tend to copy-paste my standard list in order to ask for help here every now and then.I'll note that I do regularly help out in this thread, my last post being just a bit up. I speak here extremely frequently.
Has any warnings been given? If valid reasons were given but Dr. Whitee continues to invalidate them then a warning should suffice.Bump
The situation persists, Dr. Whitee wants to keep invalidating the votes of me, Dalesan, Maverick and Deagon, forcing us to clarify our votes after having explicitly said that we are against the use of Buddhism in JJK, and saying that they are invalid just because he gave his reasons and we did not agree with them, currently the thread is a back and forth and full circle with most staff and members disagreeing with the use of Buddhism but keep trying to invalidate the votes to keep the thread going.
Just so you know, it was acknowledged by both Deagon here and here as well as by me here.Has any warnings been given? If valid reasons were given but Dr. Whitee continues to invalidate them then a warning should suffice.
And it's not only him who's trying to invalidate our votes but also TheGunsFinalWrath-I should mention that there are many attempts to try to nullify/invalidate my vote and that of the other staffs by Dr. White and TheGunsFinalWrath with the excuse that we don't know what we are talking about and that we are simply not right, or the people with whom we agree did not read the thread, etcetera... It's a little annoying that insistence and continues despite having given advices to stop with that attitude.
I just saw TheGunsFinalWrath's long post towards Maitreya about them using a fallacy... and I'm not even sure what to make of it honestly. They both seemed to come off with a condescending attitude (If that's the right word for it) even if they don't mean to and two staff members already commented against their behavior (You and Deagon). Right now, things seemed to have haulted with Deagon being the last to comment it seems.
This type of thing is not a report as such, it is more of a request for Profile Deletion Threads, if the user continues to create such pages despite being deleted and warned then they will be reported.
If you think so I'm fine with it, I just checked the content of the page they created and it looks blatantly troll so I don't object to the ban.I think that we can permanently block that user then.

This user kept editing the statistics of profiles after being warned.
Edit: Check the history page for yourself and you'll see they've done a lot of unsolicited stat changes as well as edits that damaged the profile quality.
Yes. They seem to be very clueless rather than malicious, but if they continue to cause problems, we will have to ban them. They replied to Ant's message in their wall, based on their response I think I wouldn't mind giving them one more chance, if they keep editing then I think short ban would be in order.
What do you mean by virus? Many pirate websites have annoying popups, it could be unintentional.I've deleted the posts with the virus link. Intentionally spreading a virus on the forum should be cause for an immediate perma-ban.
It was not a pirate website. And if it was, it would have to be removed anyway for illegal distribution. It was a MediaFire link, and several members (who I also had to delete the comments of due to having quoted the post with the link) attested to getting a virus after downloading it.What do you mean by virus? Thank you for helping out, Dark_Soul20189 and DarkGrath.
A quick scan on VirusTotal told me that despite having 1 detection alone still seems to have some malicious treat (and another suspicious one), could be a false positive? Perhaps but still.Doomrider7 has sent us a message about this:
"I would like to speak up on my ban that I had not knowingly attempted to spread viruses or malware and apologize for any problems caused. Other than the website linked(which does have its issues), I have no idea what caused the issue since the link is just a common zip file with screenshots of the artbook in question(which I will not disagree that it runs afoul of other rules). Again, I am sorry that it caused problems, but it was not my intention nor did I intend to spread malware and just wanted to share something I thought was cool with the community."
Was this one of their first offences? If this was the first time this happened and they have had no previous sus actions that would lean towards them doing this intentionally, I'd argue they deserve a second chance but that's my opinion. So what do you all (in our staff) think that we should do here?
Then I'm fine with giving them a second chance under the assumption that this was unintentional but obviously if it happens again or something similar occurs, then they get banned. However, if other staff members don't want to risk the hassle, I'm not going to complain if they disagree.I do not think that they have done anything ban-worthy previously.
