Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Which is why I'm only suggesting a light punishment. You rightly noticed a staff member doing the wrong thing, but you didn't handle it in an appropriate way, such as:
  • Bringing it to the RVR, since it ultimately involved an ordinary-ish user's rule violation being overlooked.
  • Bringing it to HR, since it involved a staff member misapplying the rules.
  • Bringing it to any staff member on their wall or in DMs.
  • Waiting for another staff member present in the thread to wake up and check on things.
Making another 30 posts about the situation in the same staff-only thread doesn't really help, and just ends up derailing. And since you were ultimately doing that, Idiosyncratic's insistence that you stop posting about it there was reasonable.
You are right. But I think Wank should be punished as well because he clearly was in the wrong as well.

And I thought tagging a staff member on the thread was enough. I didn't think it was necessary enough to bring to RVT

I think Wankbreaker's actions were more understandable. They had plausible (even if ultimately false) reasons to believe they had permission to post, and other than that, were defending themselves from allegations, yet even then, they eventually backed away from the topic, and so clogged the thread up less.

And I didn't say you needed to bring it to the RVT. Given that you told a staff member to have a look, you could've simply waited for them to respond, instead of going into that big back-and-forth. RVT was just one of four options I listed.

Anyway, for the actual amount of Tdjwo/Nanaya's bans, I'd like input from other staff members. I think Tdjwo has more of a history, especially recently, so maybe 3 days for him, and 1 day for Nanaya?

I lack the time on hand to offer a lengthy post of my thoughts: I think Agnaa's stance is basically sensible. I'll sign off on a warning or light punishment for Tdjwo, hesitantly for Nanaya as well.

I'll accept my punishment. I just want staff members to accurately access issues instead of choosing to take a side. And Wankbreaker should be monitored more as well. This is the second time he's done something report-worthy and gotten away with it because for some reason.
