Ragnarök-RP Thread

"Don't worry, thing's turn out fine. Probably" Horus said, trying to comfort David "I have barely any idea what's happening, but if a city's in danger, we should go there immediately."

"What a predicament." Carcass Keeper jumped out of the hole, "You assholes completely wrecked my shop!" Yelled the information broker. "S-sorry! How much to fix it?" Rory asked.

"Don't ******* worry about it..." Carcass Keeper turned to Kiara who was breathing heavily.. "I will get you people a sizeable home for your stay in Emerald City. I do not know where Zaza is though, so don't ask me." Belial then turned to King Tiger.

"This is the guy who gave us the information about the disease.." Belial said.

“thanks Hor-“

“Wait…Horus?” David looked at him. Rushing foward, he wrapped one arm around Horus in a hug.

“Long time no see man! Was afraid you died or somethin!” David said, grateful to see another one of his comrades again.

After hearing Belial words, he let go of Horus, and walked towards the man.

“So your patient zero?” He asked, his eyes hard.

"Heh. Nice to see you too. I honestly don't know what I was doing for... how long has it been? Honestly, everything's just a blur to me I... I have no idea what happened..." Horus looked perplexed and concerned, trying to figure out why he didn't remember anything before snapping back to reality "Anyways, as you can see, I'm not dead."

"I know exactly what you're going to say, and I'm going to run away!" And he teleported away.
“spineless bastard” David muttered, watching as the man teleported away.

“I’m glad man!” David said.

“But…that’s kinda weird…hope your alright..”

“He chose to save his own life, at the cost of dooming an uncountable amount of people to death and suffering from this plague Rory.” David said bluntly.

“I won’t deny he was forced into it, but I can’t respect a man who did somethin like that”
"Hypocrite," Belial said, crossing his arms. "You would doom the same number of people to save your precious wife, you ******* hypocrite..." Belial's eyes flared up. "Hey, Belial, calm down..." Rory said, attempting to calm him down.

David looked over at Belial.

“If I was in that mans shoes I would have gladly killed myself if it meant sparing others from harm.”David said bluntly.

“And don’t you ******* DARE bring my wife into this you hellspawn. Just because I love her doesn’t mean I’d forsake my duties as a hero” David spat, his anger rising.

"Well not everybody is a ******* hero like you!!" Belial said, storming off into an alleyway, his anger rising rapidly. "******* bugs..." He thought as he leaned against a wall in discomfort. "*******..." Belial raised his hands to catch something.

"Calm down, kid." Carcass Keeper said, "That's the address for your new place. Be careful, you and Kiara have a hefty price on your heads." Belial tilted his head, breathing heavily.

"Why...?" Carcass Keeper smirked, "A God-King and one of the strongest summoning users... Who wouldn't want you dead? Any mercenary already realizes killing Rory is useless, she'll simply reincarnate into another person and repeat the cycle of destruction." Belial smirked.

"Whatever... Piss of before David kills you or whatever..." Belial said as Carcass Keeper walked off, "Haha! Whatever you say. Peace!" He disappeared as Belial slumped down the wall.

"Tiring..." It was tiring to keep himself together with these voices swirling through his head...

“God damn brat” David muttered. Walking away from the group. Yet…his anger wasn’t only at Belial. The boys words had struck a nerve. A nerve he didn’t know could be struck until he said those words

“…would I let innocent people die…to save Masayoshi?” He thought to himself. The thought felt like poison, corroding him down to his core. Would he really forsake his ideals to save the person he loved?

“…I…I don’t know…” David said aloud. He didn’t know. Didn’t know if he could remain true to his ideals if it meant losing the person he loved. And the fact that he didn’t know disgusted David. He was willing to die for her, he knew that much, but to let other people die so she could live…?

“****…” he muttered, his mind spinning. His thoughts conflicting with each other. His ideal hero persona clashing with his wants and needs as a person, leaving a jumbled mess of conflicting interests that he couldn’t untangle.

Rory groaned, "What was wrong with Belial...?" She thought to herself, Kiara grabbed Rory's hands gently, pulling her in for a hug. "I know you're worried about him... Maybe we could ask Carcass Keeper what's wrong with him?" Rory nodded.

"M-Maybe..." Rory had already gone through her own crisis, and she did not want to see the people she cared about go through one as well. Kiara also didn't want Rory to feel that way, "Rory, look at me, just talk to Belial. He's your son, you just need to get him to open up!" Rory squeezed Kiara tightly.

"I'll try, yeah...!" Rory was still sort of doubtful, but she was enthusiastic. "I just wish Belial would call you mom, heh.." Kiara blushed, "I don't think I'm ready for parenthood... How am I not pregnant again?" Rory pushed her away, shrugging. "Dunno."

Belial walked out of the alley, his eyes nearly completely bloodshot as if he was a normal human and hadn't slept in days or weeks. He was clearly still frustrated, "I... Have the address of the place we're staying." He said.

David walked back to the group, having heard Belial words. He said nothing, but nodded in acknowledgment of Belial words.

“Shouldn’t have went off on the kid” David thought to himself. He knew Belial was having a rough time lately.

(Well, I'm gonna make a Zonolo post rq)
(Since Masayoshi isn't doing much, I'll go back to focusing on Zonolo and co.)

The crew utilizes their full power, now clashing with Surtr and his Elderstahl on a much more comparable level, albeit Surtr still possessed the upper hand, by however a small degree, in the battle. Not only did the battle prowess and strength of the fighters improve, but so did the synergy of the team as they battled against Surtr.

A year had passed since they had gone all out in the battle, and they were showing no signs of stopping. Zonolo clashed blades with Surtr, exchanging swings with him as he wielded both blades. Surtr saw an opening, preparing to swing at Zonolo as the latter tossed one of his blades up. Zonolo blocked the blade with his arm, his powers passively nullifying the damage he was supposed to take entirely. As this happened, he used his other arm, swinging toward Surtr with his blade. Surtr lept back, only for Boros toss the sword down like javelin toward him. Surtr used Elderstahl to launch the blade away, sending it toward Zonolo. Boros then descended, engaging against him in melee combat, throwing a combination of punches and kicks, all while being sure to evade the blade he wielded. Boros then rushed toward him from a variety of angles, ricocheting off the walls. This forced Surtr to try and analyze his movements to parry, dodge or evade his strikes. However, Mira used this opportunity to sweep Surtr's legs, knocking him off balance to allow for Yamato to launch a powerful kanabo swing toward him. Surtr blocked the swing, but Zonolo rushed toward him with a swing of his own to keep him on the defensive.

They finally managed to truly put Surtr on the backfoot.

However, as this occurred, a seal began to break. A cracking sound could be heard, echoing throughout Muspelheim, promptly interrupting the battle. Surtur instantly ran off toward the noise as Zonolo displayed confusion.

"Oh no..." Surtr said.

"Why? What? What's going on?" Zonolo asked.

"Let's just say our fighting woke up a very, very, very angry individual..." He answered, "Hel."

"Hel?"

"Hel is the Goddess of Death...." Mira informed him.

"With the constant death throughout this reality, she's found herself with a massive workload, having to take individuals in by droves," Surtr continued.

"Then what's with the seal?" Yamato asked.

"While she's normally very rational, sometimes the stress... gets to her, and that can have very negative consequences for anyone that qualifies as being alive..." Surtr answered, "We need to hurry up and close that seal before-"

An explosion was heard, ringing through Muspelheim, and everything there gained a blood red hue. The five of them rushed toward it, noticing a woman in a red outfit, with black boots and a golden horned-shaped crown. She wielded a golden axe scepter as well, by no means being the traditional Goddess of Death as far as appearance.

"So behind schedule... So many new citizens... " She said to herself in dismay, "So much work to catch up on! Every time I manage to catch up... More people always arrive! I'm glad they think death is eternal rest, because it certainly isn't for me!"

The five of them rushed out to see her present there. Surtr nervously tried to make conversation to calm her down.

"Hey, Hel... It's been a while..." Surtr said.

Hel descends over to Surtr, towering over him, being even taller than the 6'8" full power Zonolo due to standing at 7'2".

"Hello, Surtr. I would love to exchange pleasantries, but I would really prefer if we talked later. I'm incredibly behind schedule...." She answered, "The inhabitants of Helheim grow in number by the day. By the minute, rather..."

"I know, I know... Just remember to breathe, OK?" Surtr said, "Be calm, just breathe..."

"More of the living need that advice..." She replied.

"Good one," Surtr nervously responded.

"And who are these individuals?" Hel said, looking away from Surtr and onto Zonolo and his team.

"Oh! Uh, these are, uh-"

"Spit it out, Surtr..." She said, her voice gaining a much more stern and angry tone.

"They came to challenge me..."

Hel looked toward the group with frustration.

"Were you also the ones who slayed Surtr's dragon steeds and Verndari?" Hel asked, anger starting to be more clearly detected in her voice.

"Yes..." Zonolo said solemly.

"Do you know how many of them you killed? How much of a burden that put on me while I was already behind schedule?"

"Lost count," Yamato said. Upon seeing her, Hel's face became visibly livid.

"And you! You worked under Valdagyðja and killed countless individuals... And the falling out you had with her brought Valhalla to extinction until she remade it!"

"Now, Hel, remember.... stay calm-" Surtr said. However, his statement appeared to fall on deaf ears.

"I won't calm down... Not until these individuals have perished..." Hel said, a fiery red aura swirling around her.

"Great, all Hel broke loose. Literally...." Zonolo said, drawing his blades. All of them readied combat stances, all except Surtr.

"I think it'd be smarter to run..." He said.

"No, we can take her..." Yamato said.

"Chances are slim, but not nonexistent..." Mira said.

"I like those odds...." Boros said.
"Well then, if you're certain..." Surtr said, some uneasiness still in his voice as he raised Elderstahl. He didn't know whether to be confident in the group he had faced for almost two entire years, or nervous that they had brought on a death wish for themselves.

The group of them rushed Hel, who was not in the mood for such a battle. She proceeded to parry their strikes with nothing more than a vague expression as she walked past them and toward Surtr's forge.

"Wait a second, what's she doing?" Surtr asked, "Why's she headed toward my forge?"

"I dunno, but that doesn't even sound good..." Zonolo said, exerting himself even more as his blades clashed with her hand, making an effort to push her back. At most, he was slightly slowing her down. Surtr then launched a slash of his own, attempting to help Zonolo to push her back. Boros appeared on her right, launching a punch, only for his strike to be caught by her hand. Mira came from behind, attempting a slash with his blade, only for Hel to kick up her battleaxe to block the swing. Then, Yamato, bursting at full speed, launched a powerful kanabo swing that connected with the face of the Goddess of Death. From there, she swung the kanabo relentlessly as the others exerted themselves with all their might to try and push her back.

However, the swings, and all the pushback weren't pushing back nearly as well as they attempted to, and the swings themselves didn't even faze Hel or make her flinch or slow up.

"Off," Hel said, her mere speech blowing them all back. She continued to walk toward the forge making her way inside.

The group of them all sprung toward her, only to be forced away by the gust of air from her waving her hand in dismissal.

"I thought you wanted us to perish..." Zonolo said.

"You shall, but there is a reckoning that awaits others as well...." Hel said, "And I desire a weapon that shall suffice in allowing me to enact retribution for the headaches and misery they have given me..."

They all rush toward the entrance of the forge, preparing to guard it from Hel. Granted, they would need a lot more power if they expected to truly hold her off, but they needed to do the best they could.

"If you get out of my way now and do me the pleasure of not killing another soul, I'll have no need of ensuring your deaths..." Hel said, "But, clearly you've already chosen foolishly to stand in my way, and you'll receive the due recompense..."

Hel went from casually walking to pushing her foot off the ground and rushing toward them. The battle between the Goddess of Death and her opposition was now just beginning.

Belial simply snapped his fingers, teleporting the group into the place. (Whatever the **** you want it to look like, too lazy to describe it.)
David sighed, before walking into one of the rooms, closing the door behind him. He collapsed onto the bed. His mind still processing Belial words

“I’d…do anything for her” he said quietly

“anything”

Belial immediately walked towards the bathroom, going to take a shower. He turned the water up as hot as it could go, throwing off his clothes and hopping into the shower. He stood there, his eyes still bloodshot.

His body, mostly his torso, was ridden with weird black marks that seemed to resemble burns but weren't actually burn marks. They were the marks of death, slowly accumulating with every Shadow Soldier that he had, corrupting his insides to the point nothing could possess his vessel.

Belial stared intently at these marks, "What am I even doing..." He had climbed Ulric to gain power, but so far, he couldn't do much to save anybody with the power that he had. He simply looked at the ground, groaning and brooding, stopping himself from just destroying the bathroom.

The voices still continuously swirled within Belial's head, like insects gnawing away at the corpse that was his body and mind, like cancer. Belial turned off the water, drying off and putting his clothes back on, coming out of the bathroom.

His eyes were no longer completely bloodshot but he still displayed visible frustration as he ground his teeth, the news of Shalor's recent injuries not helping him at all. "Hey sweetheart, can we talk..?" Rory asked him, sitting down on the couch. "...Sure." He said.
David sighed, before walking into one of the rooms, closing the door behind him. He collapsed onto the bed. His mind still processing Belial words

“anything”
(King Tiger going yandere?)

"Belial, what's the matter?" Belial immediately disregarded her statement, "For the last time, there isn't anything wrong with me. How many times do I have to say it?" Rory flicked Belial on the forehead, crossing her arms. "What was that for?" Belial couldn't feel any pain, but he knew that she wasn't having it, he'd have to come clean.

"Belial, I'm your mother, and I need you to tell me... What is eating at you?" He knew that she wouldn't just let him go this time, causing him to sigh. "...Can I ask you a question, mom?" Rory nodded, "Ask away!" She said enthusiastically. Seeing her like this again... Seeing her finally happy, made Belial joyous beyond measure. So it hurt him to tell her his true feelings, knowing that it would make that joy wane.

"Do you love me?"

Rory's eyes widened in shock, "What kind of question is that? Belial, you mean the world to me, and that will never change!" Belial looked at her, "Mom... A while ago, on our journey to Emerald City, I had to make a sort of sacrifice. My memories are jumbled, and my mind it's... r-rotting." Rory tilted her head in confusion. "R-rotting..?" She asked.

"It's like my current self is slowly turning to dust, allowing my past to take over... Ever since Shalor got hurt, I keep asking myself if anybody actually loved me... And it hurts. I know he hasn't, but I feel as if Shalor has just abandoned me... As if I'm being forgotten. It feels like everything is going to disappear..." Belial clenched his fists in frustration, his eyes flaring up once more.

"I feel so lonely..." Rory cut Belial off, instantly embracing him for a hug. "B-Belial... I didn't know that you were going through so much... Belial, look at me." She pushed Belial away, their eyes meeting. "Yeah...?" He asked. "It doesn't matter if Shalor, King Tiger, or anybody gives up on you or abandons you. I will be here for you. I love you." Rory pulled Belial in for a hug once more.

That was exactly what he needed to hear... That somebody cared for him, that somebody loves him unconditionally. Belial nuzzled against Rory affectionately, "C-can you sleep with me...?" He asked, Rory immediately nodded. "Of course, sweetheart." It didn't matter if Shalor forgot him... Well, it did, but he could cope better knowing that Rory loved him regardless of anything.

They both laid down together, Belial peacefully falling asleep. Knowing that regardless of who he was, or what he did, that he was... loved, by somebody, it was the best thing for him. It was the only thing for him...

As Belial and Rory slept peacefully, the TV flashed on like all TVs do, displaying the local news. "This just in, we have 3 new reports of suicide in Emerald City... I repeat, 3 new reports of suicide. And doctor, you believe this is because of the disease?" The doctor on the news nodded.

"That's right. The Emerald Plague has already displayed the ability to cause mutations in the physical state, so altering one's mental state isn't completely improbable. We're doing our best to produce medicine, but these cases are increasing by the day."

Horus walked into the room, not being able to sleep so he just went to check out the house. He entered the room with Belial and Rory sleeping and saw the TV, hearing the news report "Huh..." he said, turning to look at the sleeping Belial "Very... very... interesting..." he said as he shut off the TV and walked away

"Eh, it's probably unrelated" he thought to himself

As they were sleeping, they could feel the window shatter and break open, the sounds of painful groaning permeating the house. Whoever it was stumbled across the house, knocking shit down and flailing around, making him a functionally human alarm clock.

Masayoshi's eyes shot open. Leaving her stance, she landed on the ground, slightly confused as to where she was. Masayoshi turned to Towa, who was wherever they currently were (King Tiger's room?).

"Where are we?" Masayoshi asked.

"A place of rest for the time being. Some kind of house with numerous rooms that can hold all of us."

"Where's David?"

"In bed. Did you find a way to stop the mist?"

"I think so... David... Babe... Wake up..." Masayoshi said, nudging him as he slept.

“…what the hell is that noise? Someone having a fight or somethin?” David muttered, still half awake. He sat upward in bed, and looked around.

“…what the hell is that noise? Someone having a fight or somethin?” David muttered, still half awake. He sat upward in bed, and looked around.
"I have no idea..." Masayoshi said, "But I do think I've figured out a way to stop the black mist..."

"Something along those lines..." Masayoshi said, "The mist has large quantities of blood in it. That makes it easier to detect. As for trapping it, there's a relatively easy solution: we trap it in a barrier it can't break through. After all, Zaza can only, as far as I've seen, go on the offensive in solid form, so we get her to a state where she needs to become mist and then trap her. From there, we could have Draedon run tests and create an antidote to the effects of the mist itself..."

Masayoshi spawned her gavel, preparing just in case whatever was making that noise was hostile.

"Now, back to business, I assume?"
