He doesn't have hax actually.
He could if he were a better Haki user, but he had a pretty basic showing of Armament and Conqueror. His fruit is also not haxxed actually. He shoots, controls and absorbs fire.

No, because Haki's hax is better the more developed it is. Conqueror's Haki probably won't work on Ruby, and Armament's hax has been recently discovered outside of the "no lolintangibility" part.

The Rubies may be dumb in conventional terms but they do have a decent amount of skill seeing as theyve been around fighting and doing scouting missions during and after the Gem rebellion

Yeah, Ace could also activate it fast enough to not by hurt by Van Augur's bullets, so its a pretty quick process.

Well, Ace should take this. He's stronger, much tougher, intangibility is a pain to deal with and will eventually overwhelm Ruby.
