I assume they mean the first Digimon World. Battle system is your typical Pet Simulator battle system. Future Digimon World games usually played as typical dungeon crawlers Parties of three, turn based, ect.

We had a Remake in Gen 6. If we follow the pattern, we would only get remakes in Gen 8.
