OHARA HISTORY IS IN ELBAF!!!! And the man bandaged all over may very well be the man marked by fire that Kid is after!? Honestly get kid outta the picture I'm already tired of him- Saul surviving makes sense if you realize aokiji's attack was "ice time capsule' which ig was used to perserve Saul frozen in time instead of killing him outright.
LORE PIECE LETS GOOO!!!

I really hope that the bandaged man is Saul and that he managed to survive. It'd really be nice for Robin to have someone from her past who's still alive, and if she does reunite with him, it'll probably be one of the only other times she'll cry in the series. Not only that, but we're finally getting to see the real Vegapunk at last! It's been long enough since we saw him!

@SnookB so my theory I was talking about in the other thread is this:
Vegapunk wants to get enough fire to make a sun
Vegapunk also very likely knows and is heavily implied to know, that the World Government is sending people to murder him
Sabo is related to Dragon ( he is his right hand man ) and both are also enemies of the World Government
Sabo's title is the Flame Emperor
Ace's final attack against Blackbeard was named "Flame Emperor" and looked like a mini-sun

I also hope that Saul survived, and it is exciting to finally get Luffy connecting to his father, and to know what motivated Dragon to take up arms against the vile genocidal slavers and tyrants who run the One Piece world (and our own).

Luffy may not want to become an official hero, but he really disappoints me if he doesn't want to help his father and adoptive brother fight for such an important cause after talking with Vegapunk about it.

Yea, I'd kinda like Luffy to have that kind of development. To truly fight for the little guys instead of just his friends and be a better person than the other pirates of his generation and the past generations, but that's just me.

Agreed. If he learns that the World Government offhandedly murdered an entire country just to kill his adopted brother, that might tip him over.
THIS LORE IS THE GOOD SHIT!
Yes.

Yes.
Actually they clarified that it wasn't because of Sabo being there, it's just that Sabo happened to be there during the erasure of Lulusia.

Flare Flare fruit actually has the potential to power up a literal star? I can see that tbh.
My other option was the fact that Lunarians could do it, since their fire is comparable to far more intense temperature things and never seems to run out no matter how much of it they use.

AYO
ODA SAID YEARS AGO THAT HE WANTS TO MAKE A STORY ABOUT MECHAS AND ROBOTS YEARS AGO RIGHT???
Ancient history in OP was apparently full of those if this arc is anything to go off of- Was that him hinting at a prequel series for ancient history of OP world all along? PLEASE-

This chapter is the latest example of Oda's genius writing. The way he linked Elbaf to the ancient kingdom via Jaguar and Ohara is masterful. This makes Elbaf incredibly relevant to the immediate plot of the series while not coming out of left field because, in hindsight, Oda had intentionally left enough space in the narrative to make this connection. We know that Aokiji and Jaguar were friends, we know that Aokiji is fiercely protective of his friends and that he secretly has a heart of gold. It makes sense that he might not have killed Jaguar after all

Some would call this "insane foreshadowing" and I think they are wrong. I think this is simply exceptional writing with a very keen sense of long-term perspective

PS: Speaking of burns, extreme cold also burns

Wow...I was expecting a huge lore dump chapter, but not this huge!

And the funny thing is, I've always believed Robin would unexpectedly run into one of Saul's family members that was born on Elbaf when the crew finally heads to Elbaf and for it to be revealed that his parents left years ago before Saul was born. But I never expected her to run into Saul himself!

So does this mean Saul learned to read the Poneglyphs using the Ohara books? And how did Kid even hear about him?

Apperantly he was a Daltanious fan, my least favorite mecha anime so far.
Vegapunk wants to get enough fire to make a sun
Good thing he's meeting a sun god rn.

Holy shit...Vegapunk actually puts Megamind to shame with that big ass head!! Out here looking like Sheen when Jimmy made him smarter!

Aww, Robin getting some closure this chapter, and it's crazy seeing a younger Dragon.

Vegapunk has appeared at last! His design is definitely inspired by Dr. Albert Einstein.

Oda's made some goofy designs before, but he outdid himself with Vegapunk's design from 20 years ago. :ROFLMAO:

Robin getting all emotional  Elbaf can't get here sooner!

I liked the crew getting angry at Shaka because they thought he was upsetting her.

And Present Vegapunk really does look Einstein (and looks better than he did in his flashback lol).

Vegapunk's brain is bigger than his body, Old Vegapunk remove like 98% of his Cerebrum. So I think he put his brain somehwere else as the main satelite. The idea of removing his brain and satelite maybe for retain the data in his brain and because his body is old and susceptible to disease. so he created his satellite as a new worker with different functions.

Genius.!!

You mean that he split his brain into 6 mentally connected pieces with different personality traits hosted in android shells?

Yes but No, I mean he puts his brain somewhere and uploads data on his brain to his 6 satellites, although his personality is divided but it is more helpful in multi tasking. So the brain remains connected to each other from the main brain.

I think that the way it works is if one satellite gets an information then the information will be sent to the main brain then the main brain sends the information to another satellite, I saw this scenario when Edison will do the calculations and the main brain needs freshness, then York serves to get Intake and Rest then make the main brain fresher so that Edison and Pythagoras can work more effectively and quickly.

Just an assumption.

Okay. That seems more plausible, yes.

I wonder if it's from a DF ability because that seems more likely, since these are seemingly actual people/cyborgs with his consciousness, and York can even feel sensation from eating food.
