Ngl, I’d argue Luffy has a better chance against Laxus than Katakuri does since he is resistant to Laxus’ lightning and can’t be oneshot like here

We were referring to the overall advantages and combat experience. Katakuri literally stomped, bullied and defeated base Luffy, G2 and G4 Bounceman. Throughout the fight (literally hours), despite Katakuri being comparable to Bounceman. Luffy wasn't able to land one single hit if it weren't for the fact that Katakuri got extremely hungry in their first match and decided to suffocate him with Mochi (Luffy ate his way out).

Luffy only was capable of hitting him, because his observation haki was slowly reaching to his level.

Edit: And also he lost his cool (losing his usual calm demeanor, means he cannot use observation haki as efficiently as possible)
