Again, like I almost always feel making these threads....this could end...horribly.

Post Dangai Training Ichigo key is used here. Shinobu is in her complete Kiss-Shot vampire form and can use her magic sword.

Speed equalized and SBA applied. Battle takes place in Soul Society with no other interference (may change this part for good reason) with both sides 20 meters apart.

Win via incap, KO, or death.

The Spiritual Pressure released while fighting? Sorry, cause if Soul Crush is passive, then what's keeping everyone from dying from it? Resistance to it by everyone in Bleach?

Wait, I'm looking at his profile, and Soul Manipulation only mentions that it works via contact with the Zanpakutō. Isn't this something that should be added, or is it when they draw their weapons, the passive ability takes effect?

Wow, okay.

Paralysis and disintegration are the effects mentioned, and that's probably only a sample, I'm guessing.

I can see Shinobu resisting the former, though idk if the latter effect affects the soul directly, or just the body. I'm assuming the soul is affected due to how I've seen fights play out in that anime (which wasn't good, btw).

Whelp I could just close this myself or let it sit and rot.

Tbf, when I hear "Soul Society", I should've figured something like this :p

yeah , soul crush via their aura can even affect those with resistance depending of the level difference , it won't kill them but it can fatigue or incap the opponent.

if you don't have resistance to soul manip and a good one at that you just die passively against bleach characthers ( if you need a soul to live that is)

Ok sorry this soul crush bs is getting annoying ichigo never has attempted soul crushing in character. The only person we have seen do this is aizen.
Passive B O I (also a lot of characters besides Aizen did do it if you actually watched the series)

Actually I read he series the only other person I remember doing it is Yamamoto on some fodder hollows and scaring Nanao. Literally on Aizen who actually utilized it and no one else.

And it is massively out of character for ichigo to do it.

The problem is that even if he doesn't do it in-character, he's exerting Reiatsu with every single movement in a passive way. If Shinobu doesn't have any kind of Spiritual Energy or Resistance to Soulhax, then she gets screwed right when Ichigo gets close.

This doesn't happen in canon because with Aizen's exception, he's rarely that above his opponents. Sure, he can control the Reiatsu but if the opponent has zero resistance then that doesn't matter. It'll always kill.

And again I am calling bs. If ichigo has never shown it or has never been said to be able to do it why are we giving this ability to him. Sorry but reiatsu crush seems waaay too specialised to just be handing it out willy milky like we do.

Heck we just assume that anyone around the top tiers fighting is just resisting it for reasons? We just assume that orihime can just passively resist yhwach and ichigo on their level? Or are we saying that anyone with a little soul resistance can defend against it.

Actually that is something else I sensed to know. The argument seems to change with each match. Sometimes what matters is your souls resistance. Other times we suddenly change it to AP based the moment someone has some resistance. Heck how much soul resistance is even needed? As far as I know passive reiatsu crush by Aizen has only worked on like a couple of people.

So Ichigo doesn't have Reiatsu. Because the Crush happens when you have an overwhelmingly higher Reiatsu than the opponent, and it's something that cause ailments passively. This isn't some Kido technique, it's like making stones float with Ki in Dragon Ball. It happens and that's it.

When they have similar powers, yes, they resist. Orihime's case is weird (as almost everything regarding scaling in Bleach), but IIRC, she was upgraded not too long ago and that'd support the idea of her being spiritually strong enough to not get crushed. That or PIS like always. This isn't the place to discuss such a thing.

I see Reiatsu Crush as something that Will happen if the opponent doesn't have any type of Spiritual Energy similar to Reiatsu or if the opponent doesn't have some form of Resistance to Soulhax to outright ignore the effects. It's soul burning, so any decent resistance should do the trick.

Aizen crushed people with a massive difference, and IIRC someone said Captains need to control their Reiatsu to not cause ailments into they who surrounds them. Against people who has no Spiritual energy nor Resistance to Soulhax, the difference Will always be massive since those people have no defenses against that, unlike everything in Bleach.

@Cal without Resistance to Soulhax or Spiritual Energy, far enough to get Shinobu turned into ashes the moment Ichigo uses Reiatsu, so he breaths and she dies.

Wasn't here at the time, but AFAIK, soulhax doesn't care about AP difference. Reiatsu works on the way that if the opponent has similar Spiritual Energy the Crush doesn't happen.

To TLDR it, Reiatsu Crush wank was the Bleach equivalent of "Only a Stand can beat a Stand" or needing a Kekkei Genkai to beat Itachi.

Yeah, well, Stands can be countered with NPI, same than Reiatsu Crush being negged via Resistance or similar SE. It works like that.

the last one is true though Also wasn't there the possible argument that reiatsu crush is basically a physical force so durability would come into play. Like the people bodies pliterslly get physically crush. So I dont see how just soul has anything to do with that. Like am I to believe that a solar system level character with no resistance to soul manip would get crushed to a pull by anyone that is not the soul king?

proof that reiatsu crush is a physical force please. if it was , everything in dozens of kilometers radius should be crushed to dust as soon as shinigami start flexing .

it clearly only affect the soul , if a physical body is shown to suffer from it it's because it's soul suffer.

If you can prove that then go ahead. I don't like this Reiatsu Crush thing either, so if it can be debunked then so be it. I haven't researched it by myself because I barely read Bleach once and I'm not interested enough to gather information from there.

All I'm sayin before I pass out due to exhaustion is that there's a reason the Reiatsu Crush argument died for years and is rarely ever acknowledged.

You can see that people are not kill on a soul level they bodies sustain physical injuries. And are basically broken like with an outside force. Unless you are telling me that crushing they soul allows you to physically destroy a person massively above you physically.
