Nah. You had a choice. You had the choice of living life without this match up ever happening.

Some trees can reproduce asexually, meaning, they don't need a partner to reproduce. Some reptiles do this too, iirc

The other trees are "Males" or "Females". One of them sends a spore with "Sperm" and the other sends a spore with (The other thing that females have, I don't remember the name). At least that's what I remember from biology class.

Um, most plants are hermaphrodites i.e. their flowers (main sexual organ) contain a male (Stamen) and female (Pistil) part, as such they can fertilize themselves. The process is known as self-pollination, so yeah, he can have a kid with himself if he's that tree-ish

Though the way Baby Groot exists is a result of a process known as grafting, where new offsprings can be formed by planting a section of the pre-existing parent, which then grows into a completely new organism. In fact, in most orchids Cherry Trees are grown using this method.

yay finally a vs discussion where my medical degree is relevant

And just as I gave my (Probably flawed) explanation, Zark just arrived outta nowhere and said the right thing, shaming me.

I'm fine *sob* this is fine *sniff*

I don't know why you said "some trees". Which trees do need a partner to reproduce?
Unisexual plants are plants who are absolutely dependant on other plants to reproduce.

Though at the end, sexual and two-partner reproduction is usually far more valuable than asexual and self-reproduction as it leads to genetic combination and mutation, which are key elements in evolutionary survival.

Zark said a plant's flower is its sex organ soooo
I mean, yeah. That's why they smell nice, to A T T R A C T and spread their spooge all over you so you may accidently impregnate a passing by flower.

Biology... changes you.
