How is Jiren flying in the Tournament of Power?

The Grand Priest made it so all contestants at the Tournament of Power were not allowed to fly, but after Jiren's fight with Hit, it was shown that Jiren, while mediating, can hover above the ground.

How is this possible, and does it mean something?

Either:

Mistake on writers

Resistance to Power Null

Resistance to Reality Warping (Most OP, least likely)

Are they just rules or did the Grand Priest literally take flight away from everyone?

I mean it looked like UI Goku and Jiren were also flying during their fight.

I think I remember them trying previously to fly but failing, but not sure.

I thought Goku was just jumping really quickly (Though he was able to completely change his momentum in the last barrage of the fight...)

That would be awesome.

I think it's just the level of power Jiren is putting out is superior to the amount of energy the Grand Priest used to nullify the contestant's powers, like how in the Universe 6 Saga characters were able to break the barriers made by Whis and Vados, but I wanted to hear what others thought.

well i there is another point as Goku in ultra instinct and Jiren were going really high but it just seems to be jumping high up. That just seems to be levitation and Jiren just used his ki to create a huge defense that fodders cannot reach lel

Also Ultra Instinct Goku and Jiren were not flying but fallling, the background even shows the strange clouds in the world of void going upward as they decended during their stare off.

Ultra Instinct

Levitation via telekinesis as we already had a comment about his mind strength and the fact he is meditating makes it clear that he is using telekinesis.

I mean, the Grand Priest only blocked flying through Ki, the fighters with natural flight can still fly, so maybe psychic levitation is a loophole.

Did Grand Priest blocked it himself or he simply said that in the world of void it's impossible to fly? Scans if possible.

@Lazy he never said through ki, just not through unnatural methods.

@Shadow idk, pretty sure the former.

After Goku tries flying and fails Whis states the arena is controlled so skills like Flight cannot be used. Given Grand Priest made the arena is fair to assume he made it that way.

That's just a bland assumption, the Grand priest probably had his stage builded in a way that all ki users were nullifed of their capacity to take flight.

it's more probable that jiren was levitating without ki, since he was "hovering" only a couple of meters above that rock.

Maybe Jiren is of a race of people who can naturally levitate/use TK. I mean, the WoV only limits those who try to fly unnaturally, hence why people with wings can fly.

Jiren you are flying? But howw?

Jiren: reallyyy.. after seeing me staring and destroying a spirit bomb with ssj blue kk x 20 and transcending time you still asking me this?

You're right.

He's not flying or levitating.

He's glaring at the ground and makes it continuously stays under him because it knows better.

How could I not realize this before?

They also stated that the void world lacked "time and space", yet there's both a concept of time for the time limit to exist and for the characters to be able to move, and a "space" for everyone in inhabit. So safe to say they forgot about that rule.

Maybe levitation is still possible, but you just can't manuver/navigate in mid-air. Goku was levitating during the Spirit Bomb struggle with Jiren, and he didn't even have UI yet.

And yes, Grand Priest made it so flight powers are nullified, but only for the contestents. We saw Whis and Supreme Kai fly to the bleachers before the tournament started.

he most likely created a pocket reality in the void so that they could do all of that.

That is not sitting ^
Yes he is sitting on the rock, we saw him land and sit down right on top of a rock in the video I provided.

I assumed the enormous energy from the spirit bomb was keeping Goku in the air, not that he was actually flying.

Is the OP satisfied?
Yes, I am.

How does one close a thread by the way? Is it a feature I'm not aware of, or is it a staff only thing?

I'm new if you couldn't already tell.
