i guess we can work out the context

in this arc everybody gets at least SoL feats so why would gin, one of the most deadly captains be only mach 500? godspeed or extreme speed is literally speeds above anything seen before, it blitzed so many people with ftl so it should be accounted as at least 500c (mftl)

Manga doesn’t actually show us anything. Just Gin clapping and saying that his sword is 500 times faster than that. He never actually says it’s the sound hence why we are even waiting for Arc or else this woulda been closed already.

I'll disagree with you on that. After Gin claps, he says "You hear that?" Which is pretty obviously referring to the sound.

Yeah, we've got rules for this kind of thing. Just being called light isn't enough, something that physically interacts with objects by moving them and creating some kind of void goes against the idea that it's real light.

Beams can go at any speed in fiction, including FTL. You would need to prove that it's real light though something that explodes upon contact is not likely to be agreed to be as such (though this could be ignored if it had some kind of other properties, like being made of photons or refracted/reflected when travelling through different media).
