Even if Merlin wasn't just referring to destruction in general, and a 1-mile diameter wasn't common for Liones (I've found a second instance where it's stated in-universe), the calculation is now completely obsolete due to the new scaling system.

But what about gowther's blackout?

Gowther's blackout is less consistent than a diameter of 1-mile for Liones. It's just Nabaka forgetting.
