Also cavalry usually gain speed from dismounting while fliers always lose speed. Wyverns even lose some strength in the process.

The problem is that if you use her as a dodge tank, which is what she's best at, she'll consume durability quickly.

Depends. I find weightloss pretty useful for Edelgard, its basically the only way she can expect to x4 using the brave axe (14 Wt) as a wyvern knight. It also allows for easy Aegis shielding, reducing its weight to 1.

Of course, it is best used in non-armored classes.

You mean a Gem you get in the post time skip, near end game, whose only purpose is getting rid of special weaknesses unless you are Mercedes (because for some reason Jeritza doesnt wear it in CF), against a shield that you get in the early pre-ts and that gives you the highest def/res of any shield in the game (except technically Seiro's vs demonic beasts).

Their utility is different.

Pavise and Aegis effect need the Lamine Crest, much like the shield needs the Fraldarius effect.
