Eternal VS Byleth

There is no such thing as 5-B powernull but it will probably work anyway if it hits.

No, it mean that his powernull work against 5-B power source, which in this case are the Earth's consciousness.

Correct me if j'm wrong, but isnt Eternal Requiem can only work against Gaia Memories ? It's completely unsable outside of the verse.

Not exactly if you put it in another ways. What Eternal Requiem does is basically stop the Gaia Memories from working, each of those memories contain a small part of the Earth's knowledge itself. In this case, it neutralizes the Xtreme Memory which powers come directly from the true Gaia Memory.

Yeah, but Kasumi states it's power is simply disable all Gaia Memories except the T2. We have no evidence to support that he can uses it on other power source

The T2 Memories implied to be stronger than their T1 counterparts which make them immune to Eternal Requiem.

The Gaia Memories power source is literally the Earth's consciousness itself. Eternal Requiem can prevent them from working by destroyed their connection with true Gaia Memory.

So it seems his null might not even work. I doubt he will even get to activate it if he has to put something into a slot as Byleth should land a hit in that time.

And why can't he just dodge it then active his powernull. I already give my statements about Eternal Requiem able to work against Byleth. If you disagree with me then tries to debunk it then.

He has to both dodge the whip sword (I doubt Daido will even see that coming.) and also find the right card, put it into a slot, and then activate it. He is more likely to get hit then not. Also has he mulled anything besides the Gaia's memories? If it is implied to only work on those then that might be a factor.

Speed equalized doesn't mean that he'll have extra time to react. You don't need to be faster than someone in order to catch them off guard. If you're not expecting the enemy's sword to turn into a whip and fly at you, you're not going to be able to defend against it as effectively, if at all.

Katsumi being a former mercenary should have enough experience to expect something like that in a fight. Again, if anybody want to assume that his powernull can only work on Gaia's memories then give an argument against my statement above, nothing implies that it can only work on a certain things.

Did he encounter whip swords before as a mercenary? Any advantage that brings should be balanced out by Byleths equal, likely higher skill and other bonuses like healing. even if he nulls (unlikely that he will land it during combat if Byleth is actually trying.) Byleth still has an advantage in most forms of combat.

Well, you see, being created as an super soldier, Katsumi was trained to be one of the best soldier out there and have been fight against many super-powered beings similar to him before. Any dirty tricks or underhand tactics won't be strange to him.

Also, he doesn't need to hit for powernull to work, he just put in the slot then active it then any powers Byleth has are nulled.

I probally have to watch Katsumi's movies again to join the debate. But isnt one of his minion is a dopant skilled at tentacle attacks ? Being the leader of his team shouldnt he has experiences regarding this style of fighting ?

And his powernull isnt canceling people's power like Touma from Toaru. More like he deactivate the opponent power, cutting them from their powersource and rendering them powerless

Also, Katsumi usually only activate the powernull after he knocked the opponent on the ground first. So he probally handle the fighting first then activate the Eternal Requiem later

Yes but he still needs to pull something out and put it into a slot while dodging a ranged attack from someone more skilled for reasons I will explain. This Byleth scales heavily above his other keys, who scale above people in swordplay who were trained since childhood in fighting and train constantly (this guy also has some impressive feats of his own.) who scale to or above someone who as a child fought off trained soldiers for 3 days (I can get scans if you want.)

@MagiSinbad

Yeah, he should. And the fact that he fought against an characters who could instantly analyze the opponent's capabilities due to having the infinite knowledge of Gaia's is another impressive feat.

Fighting someone with knowledge about you isn't that impressive. Going off of what Sinbad said (and what you seem to agree with.) Daido might not even start with the Null and now has no response to Pulse.

But in this case, a person with Nigh-Omniscience power that can analyzing every of your capabilities and abilities and predicting nearly endless of outcomes to defeat you. Yet, despite that Katsumi still able to stomp Double's with low diff, and that's before he even use powernull on them.

While i do agree with Katsumi doesn't start with powernull but once Byleth starting to reaveled their trump card, Katsumi will immediately realized that and waste no time null their power then finishes them.

He wouldn't know when Pulse happens though so he won't null. It rewinds time. Also knowing what someone can do only matters if you are competent enough to execute a plan with that knowledge or fit enough to threaten your opponent.
