The true power is that it could “create” a labyrinth and that it could go on even after death, that is basically all that is known about said true power. And that title that even Selene acknowledged which is what she knew of before his death. All we know is that he used the hear to store his life force, and with it gone it would make less sense that he would be stronger still since that would be his “supposed” source of strength, he was already at DG level, just the weakest among them. Elf with his knowledge stated that Dog was a dragon worthy of the title DG despite being the weakest, even Selene stated that if she was not wounded she could take him. It makes sense that he returned to his original power for her to say that as well. Even human Ignia could melt said material that would be from Dog’s dragon form which would show the difference in power even then if one claims that Dog was already at the 5 DG level strength. Elf beating a dragon version of Dog while in human form is worthy enough.
