Bump. we need to wrap this up eventually this has been going for almost an entire month, i think most agreed to OP's suggestions. Feedback against my suggestions would be appreciated too
 
Everything is fine but, Purify is like exorcism for ghosts, and we don't have OHK ability anymore so nothing to classify it as. Same with the unreadable scripts, not really an ability we have, maybe mention it in the intelligence section.

And where does immortality and resurrection come from?
 
Maria can ressurect Richter if he fails against Dracula in Sotn's intro, the ress makes him also incvincible (She can only do this once). Kinda weird that it isn't atleast on Maria's profile, even when not combat applicable

We got rid of OHK? Damn, i remember the description saying it transports your soul to the afterlife
 
Couldn't find a video so I had to play it myself, but he doesn't actually die he has 1 hp and Maria buffs him. So that would be stat amp/invincibility although not combat applicable.
 
I mean he literally goes from 0HP back to full from the last hit, don't know what else to classify this as other than ressurection, reactive stat boost, heal boost and invulnerability?
 
Except he doesn't he has literally 1 HP left and he's on his knees, so he isn't dead and he isn't getting resurrected. Maria just buffs him.
 
Well how do we treat reviving/avoiding death anyway? Alucard has life apples, which familiars can revive him from, pretty sure in CoD you have an item that takes your damage for you and you can't die when the health is on 0HP
 
Well that's resurrection for Alucard, although not sure if we treat it as game mechanics considering he has regen and immoralities which would take care of him not dying.

The Hector thing is Damage Reduction through a pet, like soul link.
 
Regen isn't game mechanics, it's just unspecified most of the time, lots of game verses have automatic healing, Final Fantasy literally calls it Regenerationn for example.

Sleep hax for Hector

Resistance to sleep hax to the cast

Intangibillity for Hector

Absorbtion for Hector

Vibration hax for Hector

Hellfire hax for Hector

Slight intelligence bump for Hector through familiars

Resistance to Memory hax for the cast

Resistance to Body puppetry and Paralysis for the cast

Sleep hax, Paralysis, Body puppetry, invisibillity for Drac and resistance for him as well

Healing/Stat boost for Richter through Maria

Ressurection for Alucard (through familiars)

Damage reduction for Hector

- Intangibility needs an elaboration as to how it works

- Hector´s absorbtion should be specified as simple healing by attacking sort if what I read is right, as it could easily be taken as Kirby sorts of absorbtion

- Vibration manip is only addable to a profile if it´s doen via abilities than just sheer AP. More detail is needed to see in which of those two it falls in

- How purify works? Explanations are needed

- Hellfire via summon is fine

- Resistances look fine

- Dracula stuff looks fine

- Resurretion is a power only applicable for a profile to the one being resurrected (As I doubt Maria can resurrect herself), leading into Richter also getting type 8 immortality if she´s nearby (meaning that this is practically not usable in Versus Threads unless Maria is also included)

Yeah i think Ogbunabali already debunked me on the type 4/8 part, AFAIK Hector can summon a familiar that creates shockwaves from a ground bounce and purify normally oneshots enemies though we don't have that abillity anymore apparently so it should be disregarded
 
This is the shockwave

" Uses its huge body to press enemies into the ground. The impact's shockwave damages surrounding enemies. "

The absorption is actually Life lifesteal.

This is purify, we don't have an ability for it and it only works on ghosts

"With a single blow, returns all ghost monsters to the afterlife."
 
Purify likely only works on ghost sort of beings that aren´t in the afterlife for some reason (unless their very nature simply leads into no afterlife for them to begin with/verse mechanic, like, say, Gengar from the top of my head).

If anything, it can just be "Durability Negation for conventional ghosts"

Outside of that, I agree with Ogbunabali-
 
I think people who can inflict curse should be able to power null instead (It literally disables powers/magic, movement and attacks)
 
Also how do we classify that Charlotte can turn Jonathan into a Frog/Owl etc. and Dark Rift, which literally behaves like a black hole i.e sucking projectiles and enemies in (We give Megaman Black hole creation for the Black hole bomb and the justification is the exact same)
 
Transformation also isn't on Charlotte's profile even though she can transform into an Owl/Frog herself. I think we should possibly remove curse hax and resistance across the board since its highly inaccurate to how it actually works in the games, though Dracula can invoke actual curses. I think its far closer to power null

i didn't see it nvm. Eye for eye doesn't work like Attack reflection, more like "pain sharing", since it doesn't deflect attacks only gives out the same amount of damage back and it doesn't work on projectiles
 
Yeah but that's the only thing we have that's damage transfer ability wise. There was some talking about a new ability "Damage Manipulation" or something that would include things like these but I'm not sure if/whether it's going to be made.
 
Anyways curse resistance may still be in the talks through Dracula, but everyone else who has curse hax needs it removed
 
Because curses don't work like actual "curses" in the games, it mostly shuts down abillites, magic, movement and attacks
 
I mean the status effect is literally called "curse", just because it has an effect similar to another ability doesn't mean it's not a curse. Also not all of them are like that in Sorrow games, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia curse drains your mana.
 
It's just naming conventions or would you give Charlotte Acid manip through Acidic bubbles? Also i mentioned how it shut down magic i.e MP it's pretty different in all other CV games including CoD, LoI, HoD, Sotn, CotM
 
I mean I don't see why we shouldn't treat a curse as a curse. And she already has poison manip.
 
Acid hax is its own thing, currently Castlevania curses don't behave like a actual Curse Manipulation as shown here. It behaves way more like Power null (Not being able to attack, use magic etc.)
 
Well it's its own thing on this wiki, yes, but in 90% in fiction acid=poison. That is also the case with Castlevania as the description of the ability reads

"Create poisonous bubbles."

And every curse in fiction is different it's a very broad term in what its functions are. This wiki page only shows possible uses of what they can do. And they are definitely misfortunes. I think they should stay, but input from other people is needed on this matter.
 
If its just named curse but actually nullifies attacks it's misleading to name it curse manipulation.
