Elden Ring General Discussion

Miyazaki really made a whole game telling us to get bitches.

Have been playing mage for now, a pure mage on my first playthrough and an Odin build in my current one (so basically Int/Faith plus a bit of strength), planning of doing a blood mage, enchanted knight and later something more physical I think

It's a video, just super sped up showing the route Finlay would have taken. Just walking through the entire game from Radahn to Malenia.

Oh btw, I found out that Tiche is literally programmed to attempt tanking hits intended for you so you don't get hit. At least that's something I saw in a Reddit Post.

We definitely nailed the scaling methinks for the most part. But the Haligtree being End Game rather than Late Game is an interesting revelation.

Could this mean Malenia gets a second key? The Scarlet Bloom implies the further she blooms, the closer she becomes a True Goddess. So I think current Malenia maybe actually be stronger than the shattering Malenia

Maybe you can argue that Malenia should have 3 Keys instead of 2. Pre-Bloom Base, Post-Bloom Base and then Goddess of Rot.

I'd say Shattering | Post Shattering sounds nicer.

Also the second key can just be merged with the Goddess of Rot key and we list it as "Higher as the Goddess of Rot"

No, that's a whole ass new key because she gets brand new abilities and attacks while getting stronger.

Maybe the reason why the haligtree has higher scaling enemies than the Elden Throne is because its sort of a secret area, awarding players with harder challenges. Like that dragon place in Dark Souls 3.

Maybe, but it is implied that Malenia gets stronger after she Blooms as she approaches God Hood so she can legitimately scale to Endgame stuff.

Yeah, that scaling is more about gameplay difficulties than lore cause there's no way lore-wise random soldiers from the Haligtree or Ulcerated Tree Spirits are above Godfrey and co

I do hope they patch Varre's quest to not force online invasions though. I don't really enjoy the online aspect of any SoulsBorne game.

Malenia is definitely at the top and should (at least to me) be at least comparable to Godfrey but she's still below Radagon/the Beast, especially since her third bloom state is never shown

I think Mohgwyn Palace's placement makes a lot of sense. It's true that you can shortcut there via Varre, but you can also get there via the Consecrated Snowfields, both methods are hard to find. The Varre option has the bonus point of giving us a more canonical timeline of how things go. It also just feels more concrete and logical because we get there via the help of an actual narratively relevant character you meet in the beginning. But the bonus point for the Consecrated Snowfields is that it's more consistent with the strength of enemies there. Going from Liurnia to Mohgwyn Palace is a MASSIVE difficulty spike.

I don't do PvP (I don't play online in general) but it kind of makes sense his quest would involve this kind of stuff since Mohg's cult is abotu murdering other Tarnished. But I see what you mean and I'm not arguing against it either

I think the PvP is fine imo. It's fun to goof around in it but I don't use it that much. I prefer multiplayer against bosses.

I think current Malenia should at least downscale from the At least 7-A, possibly 4-A tier

It's also honestly very stupid related to Mohg himself (assuming you don't die before reaching his location). Going to the palace like this means you won't have the crystal tear you need to semi cancel the Nihil ritual and even if you put all your points into Vigor and got all possible golden seeds and upgraded the crimson tears in Limgrave and Liurnia, you won't survive the curse at all.
And for the canon part, it was said before but Gideon has a dialogue that pretty much spells out Mohg is canonically encountered after Malenia

Yeah, Gideon hard confirms that Mohg is the last Demi-God left before you fight Maliketh.
