I'm replaying the game. Mostly for fun but partially to actually use the Crepus's Vial Talisman on Malenia, because it nullifies sound. It's believed that she is likely blind considering that the rot seems to have destroyed her eyes. It's a theory that Malenia actually hears you well because of the water in her arena. I wanna see if nullifying my character's sound will actually have an effect. I highly doubt it, but if it happens, my god FromSoftware's attention to detail is really incredible.

Malenia is a boss who gave me so much salt, she made me level up myself from 150 to 210+, out of sheer spite. No boss has ever annoyed me that much.

I was 300+ when I got to her. Used Mohg spear with Mimic Tear and bleed enhancing items. Because each instance of damage from Nihil staggers Malenia, one duo Nihil combo with my Mimic Tear nearby can literally get her to phase 2 before she has a chance to bring out Waterfowl Dance. And without that, Malenia is kinda pathetic.

I was under 200 before playthrough 2. But I used the legendary Sacred Relic hill farm. There is a Site of Grace you probably know called the Palace Approach Ledge-Road. The two best Rune farms are at this Site of Grace, coincidentally. Option 1 can be done at any time if you've reached the palace, called the Bird Farm, basically you go to a cliff, shit a bit bird, let it run off, get runes, rest, repeat. Option 2 can only be done with the Sacred Relic Sword, so after a playthrough. There are a **** ton of Albinaurics on the hill, you can kill almost all of them using the Ashes of War from the SRS just once, which gives between 60-80k Runes on average, I've found.Bro
I'm in my 3rd playthrough and only level 266 lol. I'm tryna get to 300.

I required mimic tear to beat her. The Malenia was like, absolutely crazy. She would not let me heal nor give me any sort of distance. She loved using the grab attack on me for some reason, and she liked spamming waterfowl dance holy shit.

I was playing mage and using the Mimic Tear to but it was pure nightmare the first fight, she was constantly closing the distance and dodging (even Rock Sling sometimes), I tried Comet Azur but it was a stupid move since you have to be stationary and she's always moving. Second fight I got better, if only because she was focusing on my summon and even then, once I reached phase 2, she just did the clone thing and obliterated me with Scarlet Aeonia. Third fight, I got to reducing her health to like 1/5 and then at this point she destroyed my Mimic Tear so this was just between me and her. Literally the ONLY reason I defeated her is because she decided to go Scarlet Aeonia on my face. Any other attack would have straight up obliterated me but I managed to dodge and then spammed Rock Sling like a madman until she was done. Couldn't believe it

Melania would be an easy Sekiro boss unironically. The Waterfowl Dance especially. Considering it's a series of rapid attacks, just like that giraffe miniboss, if you parry them all, her posture would he annihilated.

Interesting theory I learned
According to some people on Reddit, when Ranni killed her flesh, she casted her Great Rune to the moon in the process (there are strange lines that look rune-like on the moon in the game) and her Two Fingers where sealed away with it but after Radahn is defeated, the stars were set back in motion and her Two Fingers crash landed into the Manus Celes cathedral, effectively allowing her to confront them and kill them. "Evidences" of this are the multiple stellar shards you can find in the arena, seemingly for no reason, and the destroyed parts of the cathedral lining up with the hole in the ground where you can find the Fingers and her body
Of course, it's just a theory and I don't think it's true but it's quite cool
Also, Ranni fighting the Two Fingers is definitely a very nice physical feat, especially since she actually killed them and had to get physical to use the Fingerslayer Blade
