Dragon Ball's universes are actually infinite?

In Daizenshuu 4 we have this scan :[1]

All meanings here were found in the Jisho dictionary [2]
The complete translation of this page is as follows:

"And the darkness that spreads (expands) to infinity, and the illumination of galaxies, tens of thousands of light years ... Hundreds of millions of light years ... In addition to the stars where they can not even reach, there are countless monsters unimaginable."
So according to this scan that can be found in daizenshuu 4, the space (darkness) of the Dragon Ball universes is infinite in area / size.

1 -The meaning of the last words has obviously changed, fragmented they have a singular meaning, but they change the meaning of the text by entering the plural and showing that they were talking about the race of those mentioned, with the image of their patriarch and world.
2- There may be comments on this blog where it says that in the last sentence there is a "Mugen" which would put the position of this first kanji talking about the size of the doubtful space, however as I said before, the Jisho helps this change from infinity to innumerable synonyms) according to the conjugation, then anyway the space still remains infinite, and the alien race becomes a number just hard to count.

Expands to infinite is a flowery language of "Approaching Infinity". It doesn't mean it actually reaches infinity. None of the statements about stars or galaxies comes even close to infinite. And the thousands to millions of lightyears are actually understatements. The Universes are at least Billions of lightyears in diameter. Innumerable just means really huge, not infinite.

I just want to make a correction, it does not expand, is a translation error only.

The correct conjugation is "reach" or "to fill", so there is not say that the space of Dragon Ball expand to infinite, but yes that size is infinite.

Òü▓ÒéìÕ║âÒüÆÒéï

Even, is missing the kanji of Mugen there and his companion.

Now it reaches.

It's still a hyperbole and this is not the only time this was discussed. And I'm pretty sure some good Japanese translators have seen the text before and considered this not legit.

It's not really that it's not legit but more that due to how context-heavy the Japanese Language is, it can literally mean both if taken in different contexts. It's just that other material surrounding the quote leads most people to believe it's taken to just be "Really Big" rather than "Infinite"

Wait I thought we already considered each Universe infinte because of interdimensional time space continuums

Not really, Whis doesn't have infinite speed and the 3-A's are only that, not High 3-A.

Yea, "Expands to infinity" Doesn't = "This space is infinite" It's just a really fancy way of saying "This space has expanded to a large degree"

The expanding part was a mistake, see Alonik's explanation.

Yeah, Earth being located at the edge of the universe is a big plot point for the reason of the Universe being larger than the observable universe; but it's definitely finite sized. There would be no such thing as "Edge of the Universe" if it was infinite.

True about the map depiction so I agree with this point of view.

  1. Dark Dragon "Earth being located at the edge of the universe is a big plot point for the reason of the Universe being larger than the observable universe"
That's not a big plot point, it's just Dragon Ball doesn't follow the Big Bang Theory; But this by no mean means it's a plot point that the Db Universe is bigger than the Obervable Universe, because you can have an extremely large Universe which space doesn't expand, still being larger than our Observable Universe - The Earth can be on the middle of the Universe, or near the outskirts for all I care.

But yes, this certainly doesn't agree with the depictions that Toriyama has made of the Dragon Ball cosmos in both the anime and manga.

Where is said that Earth is in the edge of the universe?

It's drawn at the edge in Toriyama's map. It's said in the DBS anime and manga where they had to go to the center of the universe to search for the super dragon balls.
