Deletion of MGQ

I personally think that we should try to aim for a higher standard, or at least for not being a laughingstock. I also strongly doubt that MGQ is going to draw in any remotely significant numbers of visitors.

Anyway, Bobsican, you are not a staff member and should not post here. Not you either DaReaperMan.

Given that the last thread was staff only, so too shall this one: STAFF ONLY. You may comment as a regular user assuming you are given permission to do so by a staff member (you may ask a staff member via their walls if needed). Given the discussion that led up to this thread's creation, I am hereby giving permission to Agnaa, DaReaperMan, and ApiesDeathByLazors, if they so choose. I'll ignore the other verse that was mentioned as this thread is solely regarding the deletion of MGQ, with the possibility to discuss deletion of similar verses (HuniePop, for example) in the future after the main discussion topic has reached its end.
@Antvasima ripped right from the OP

Okay. I will undelete your posts then.

Mk, well, Saikou has made it very clear to me he has no plans on commenting.

That being said, I would like any remaining supporters to provide actual proof that the game isn't a **** series. I've heard "the sequels are better!" and "it's not THAT focused on ****!" but all the evidence points towards deletion.

Weekly has given kudos to posts supporting the verse's deletion.

Saikou has stated off-thread that he believes this to be a bad move and is in favor of keeping it.

Abstractions spoke generally in favor of the verse's defense on the Page Deletion thread, though never spoke of the revised points brought up in the OP of this thread and thus I won't consider her in favor or against.

Sorry if I missed anything.

I have been given permission to speak, yet I have nothing to say. I guess I could try to coble together something profound outta the nonsense in my head though.

While I don't have any stake in this, and therefore don't really care what happens, emotionally I'm against removing a verse for sexual content even if it is just ****. I kinda see it as a weird double standard that extreme violence and death is a-ok, but T&A calls out the banhammer. On the rational hand tho, I understand that it breaks some rules set down by the almighty Fandom and am all in favor of yeeting it to keep heat offa the wiki.

Anyway, all I really care about is what's best for the wiki. I have put more effort into this place then I have my last job and that's probably really sad.

You don't need to speak at all. I gave you permission because you spoke on the Profile Deletion thread and thus were, to some extent, relevant to the conversation. That said, I did address the glaring differences between violence and pornography above, as have others, even on the OG thread.

also I have absolutely put more work into this place than my current job lol

The moral grandstanding is getting on my nerves.

1. Are there any descriptions or depictions of rape (or sex for that matter) in the articles and/or verse page?

2. Are there any highly NSFW images in the articles?

If the answer is “no” to either of these questions, leave the verse alone. I’m tired of having this discussion.

This is not a fandom/wikia like the Naruto, DC, Game of Thrones, etc. wikis, where nearly everything about the verse is catalogued. So all it’s content is out there.

We powerscale. That’s it. So long as we can do that without excessive levels of NSFW material being in our articles, we shouldn’t be having this discussion for the tenth time.

Yes, because having what is considered a **** game with suggestive looking characters on the wiki makes it look good, moral gymnastics, you are right on that, does not need to happen. But the wiki already doesn't have the best reputation, we don't need a **** game to bog that down even more.

I don’t want to hear that, especially when the community conceded to having obscure and non-noteworthy verses on site. That alone makes us look like a joke.

Keep in mind that if we didn’t openly allow virtually anything, MGQ wouldn’t even be here.

No it doesn’t. MGQ is an ecchi series, not a **** game.

It is not objectively incorrect, are you kidding me? It is literally an eroge. It’s an adult game. That’s what it is classified as. It features sexual content , it is not a sex game.

It is objectively incorrect. Read the OP. It's a **** game. I don't care what terminology you care to mince and mash and apply to it. It's a **** game, Sera.

I’m not mincing and mashing any terminology here. It’s not objectively incorrect. Please, stop saying that. It’s a “**** game” the same way Fate Stay Night, Dies irae, Senshinkan, Silvero Vendetta or Trinity, or Demonbane are “**** games”.

I'd like to say that people classifying it as eroge doesn't stop it from being pornographic. The two aren't mutually exclusive, as far as I'm aware eroge just covers any game with erotic content (not that I'm much a fan of this, either, but I digress). MGQ's focus is the pornography. That's the point.

You dragging other verses into this means very little to me. Ditto for you constantly just saying "no". If they genuinely do the same thing MGQ does, then let's axe them. Knowing that they don't, though, then let's stop being obtuse. People play MGQ to lose and be raped by the various characters for the purpose of sexual gratification. It is pornography. I really don't know how much more simply I can lay it out to you.

Who cares what people do with/in the media? It might be used for sexual gratification but that’s in the same way one can ********** to the h-scenes of any other eroge, yes that includes rape scenes (if said eroge has them) for sexual gratification. That’s completely irrelevant here. I don’t know why you have this notion that I’m bringing up other verses as if it has no merit. It absolutely does.

Similarly, To Love Ru, which is an ecchi manga with plenty NSFW material, can also be considered a source for spank material, but that doesn’t make it inherently a **** manga.

Clearly we do. And it isn't irrelevant in defining pornography, Sera. Unless you're missing out on what pornography actually is, in which case a simple Google search can help you, then this isn't a discussion. It doesn't matter if they classify it as eroge in Japan. Eroge can be pornographic, too. And that's what MGQ is. Pornography. Something we have rules against.

Bringing up other verses has no merit because I'll get to them eventually if they truly fit in the same category as MGQ. They don't, as far as I know, and to pretend that having fanservice puts them in the same category as MGQ is more than dishonest in my eyes. I'm more than happy to boot off similar offenders from the wiki- this isn't an issue solely MGQ has, I mention that in the OP. I'm starting here because this is the biggest bastard of them and the one the last discussion focused on.

Eh I don’t think the argument was ever about if people actively do it to a game, just in regards to how it’s classified by in large
And most people you’d ask would likely say it’s a **** game, and you’d likely buy the first game for **** related reasons

I’m tired of back and forth argument of “MGQ is ecchi!” “No, MGQ is ****!”

Proof has been provided for it being a **** game, where’s the goddamn proof of the contrary. If it’s that hard to actually prove that MGQ is more than rape **** on a clearly younger-looking man by extremely oddly proportioned hentai monsters, then chances are it’s not okay.

This isn’t a moral issue, I don’t see why we need arguments over if I’m allowed to port verses I find on hentaihaven or not.

(Mind you, I have seen a MGQ anime on hentaihaven, though I am not sure how official it is and it could very well be fan-made)

Stop insulting my intelligence. I know damn well what pornography is, and I’m not even using the argument “Japan says it’s an eroge!” That’s just what it is. An “erotic game”. But fine, we can scratch that entirely.

Hell, if you really want my take? No eroge that doesn’t have a non-h rerelease should be on the site, given these supposed standards (that alone actually saves Fate, Masada, and Silverio, for example).

Take it as you will, but given the that I don’t appreciate the attitudes here, don’t call me to these threads again. I can’t afford to risk my already deteriorating mental state on this shit.

Bambu gave me permission to post here.

I looked at the MGQ wiki, specifically at the attacks some characters have.
The fact that they have "attacks" that are blatantly just outright sexual acts rather than physical violence is pretty telling, if you ask me. I know this is a succubus, but the succubus character isn't the only one to have attacks like this. Pretty much all characters I looked at had at least a handful of attacks like this. This isn't just "lose = rape", it's happening the entire time you fight any monster girl. Like a good portion of their attacks are literally raping the main character.

I have no clue what MGQ is like, my only stake in this conversation would be whether it gets stuff like DSP verse deleted

Technically you also get raped when you lose in Mogeko Castle and there's a lot of rape across the extended universe. But I'm pretty sure DSP's games aren't considered **** so I wouldn't want them to be deleted

It really isn't my intent to insult your intelligence any more than it is your intent to insult my thread. If you really can't tell the difference, look into it. The game is pornographic. It being classified as eroge does not cancel its status as pornography.

I didn't call you here. I in fact explicitly mentioned in the OP that I wouldn't, given in the original thread you at multiple points stated you didn't know much about the game.

I don't know much about the verse you're mentioning, but I will say there is a difference between artistic use of trauma and pornographic use of rape. I'm not sure I'm such a fan of the former, generally, but any mature individual should be capable of telling the difference. Again, unfamiliar with your example, but my suggestion isn't to ban every verse that tackles the issue of rape or includes rape somewhere in its plot.

All of the sex in Paradox is optional and its a JRPG.
1. Don't care, was never my point that it was optional. The existence and overall intent of getting to it is the core issue, as is the abilities listed above, of course.

2. I don't care what form your favorite hentai takes. It is, at the end of the day, hentai.

That doesn't apply to Paradox, the focus is telling the story, that the story involves sex is irrelevant.

As if having hentai makes it bad.

Ostensibly this is not the case, Matthew. Off-site sources who have no reason to lie present it as otherwise.

It in fact very much makes it bad, at least in the context of our rules. You would know this if you read the OP.
