I've been thinking, since Herckong used characters who mostly lacked visual depictions in their source material, could we see more characters with similar issues like The Emperor of Mankind or Drizzt Do'Urden?
Herc and Sun Wukong actually have considerable visual depiction even at the time when they are "published".

For The Emperor of Mankind, I feel that FGO Qin Shi Huang is a good opponent as they are repressive rulers who claimed that they care about human. And to show how an infamous ruler who shapes the political system even after fall of Qin Dynasty is defeated by a more repressive rulers.

Since people were bringing up that Metal Gear has a 2-0 win rate, I decided to look up what other companies and properties on DB had similar win rates. Turns out Godzilla and Image Comics both have a 2-0 win rate as well. Comcast also has a similar win rate through Voltron and Po. For specific combatants, Iron Man, Doctor Doom, Superman, Shao Khan, and Samus, have a 2-0 win rate.
Kirby also has a 2-0 with Kirby v Buu and Dedede vs Wario, and likely a 3-0 if they do Meta Knight vs Zero

Ok, Exc vs Raiden really points out why lasers suck in VS.

So they used the "Raiden cuts things in slow motion so fast raindrops dont even seem to move" which lead to 11% of lightspeed. Thats really fast.

They also said Predator dodging lasers is close to Boba being lightspeed in reacton. So around same ball bark as Raiden.

...

Over glorified bullets are the worst reason to give characters lightspeed speeds.

Man, I remember when I was first into vs debating, I was disappointed when I figured out Yusuke wasn't Planet level and FTL

Man, it's weird but Halloween episodes are really the things I look forward to most from Deathbattle, cause there are some of the most fire match ups match ups

Nemesis vs Pyramid Head
Slappy vs Chucky
Jill Valentine vs Sarah Connor
Blade vs Buffy

Adachi vs Kira could probably fit as a Halloween episode

It's okay, just load him up with a Volt specter to give Excal a 10Kx speed amp instantly and someone to fight with him, if we really want to be pick and choosy here. Or simply scan Raiden before the fight starts in stealth so he's deconstructed into information, but I don't think that's the direction you want to go.

I can pull things out of a hat too, these are regular consumable gear items.
Oof

Can somebody point out to me with a red circle where it says Raiden gets a 10x boost to speed in Ripper Mode? I’ve read over this like 5 times and cannot find anything resembling that statement.

Exalted Blade is something Excalibur needs to fill a meter to pull out, it's not his default weapon. Raiden kills him before he gets the chance.
There's no meter fill, I don't know where you're getting that from. They have an energy supply, yes. But Excalibur doesn't need meter fill to access it.
I'll even go further and bring up how Protea held up her Temporal Anchor for centuries and Sevagoth's Shadow was active for centuries, so Excalibur isn't running out of energy any time soon.

Also, to say Raiden could kill Excalibur instantaneously pays little charitability to him, I could do the exact same by saying he casts his hax Radial Blind and one-shotting Raiden while he's defenseless. It goes both ways unfortunately.

This is, of course, not going into canon modification which gives Excalibur the power to expend energy to protect from fatal damage, or if Raiden should logically even be able to bypass void shields instantly as well.

Can I just chime in and say that the whole 'Excalibur's 50-figure loadout is the entire reason I would be completely against Gems and Aux Cores being an argument for a Xeno W?' They're optional, they don't need it / you would have to douse the scenario in a million asterisks to get these characters to win.

I've seen the rest of this conversation. I'm still skeptical on the whole "we weren't paid" thing, but the rest of said convo I agree with (Raiden's analysis being shit etc.).

Then it goes back to one question: is that projectile even laser or light beams?

Or just plasma with indefinite speed?

I shake you not: By loosely playing with "light elements" a lot of feats can be light speed.

No shit, but its fiction, if we can allow FTL to exists without time shenanigans, then light and laser can also not be actually as fast as real lasers and light.

ExcaRai really just showed up a week after BoPred and utterly obliterated it in terms of quality. How did we go from a generous 7 to an easy 9? Literally the only major flaw holding this back for me is the Boomstick and Wiz cameo, it broke the pacing quite a bit. Definitely way better than how it happened in Macho vs Kool Aid though.

Wolverine vs Raiden still has it beat in choreography, banter, and the track. Then again, that was an insanely high bar to clear, and they came surprisingly close to matching it.

If sponsored episodes can have this consistent level of quality, then I'm totally okay with capitalism.

Raiden having the best episodes of a returning combatant also makes me very happy.

What are the specific connections? I get horror protagonists with artificial arms who fight supernatural monsters, but what else is there?
Also, who wins? I’d wager Guts, but part of me would love an Ash W upset.
Both have lost everyone they have cared about horribly and have hard trouble connecting with new people, usually putting up a mask of being an asshole or bastard to keep people from getting close.
Both cut off their own hands in desperation and replaced it with a mechanical prosthesis that can be weaponized.
Both are extraordinarily violent killers and survivors, dismembering, maiming and blasting apart their enemies until they can no longer fight.
Both have been on a savage quest killing monsters and demons for several decades and have grown ragged patches of grey hair from stress.
Both fight demons from another dimension.
Neither fight fair, knowing they need every single advantage they can against their enemies.
Both fight enemies way above their paygrade, with every battle being a life or death struggle.
Both come from incredibly dark world's where horrific death and rape are common place.
Both are bound/cursed by fate to be constantly hounded and hunted by the most vilest monsters on a nearly constant basis.
Both have aided medieval kingdoms in defending themselves against monstrous hordes. (lol)
Both take on entire swarms of demons and other nasties.
Both have weapons that can specifically harm demons that are generally resistant to conventional harm.
At least a couple of these connections are absolutely on purpose as well as Miura has specifically stated he was heavily influenced by various horror media including Hellraiser and Evil Dead.

There is definitely more, but I can't think of them atm.
As for who wins, depends on how they treat Ash scaling, as he's done some RIDICULOUS stuff, and unlike a LOT of characters, he has had several crossovers that are directly canon ( just SOME of the characters he scales to are Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Marvel Zombies, Xena, Buba Ho-Tep, Vampirella, Herbert West, Darkman) and what gear they give him, as the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis is technically part of his standard equipment and he is not above using it himself as he has done so in SEVERAL games, comics and even in the movies and Ash vs The Evil Dead. He also has technically more reliable arsenal outside of the berserker armour, as he has modern weaponry with his iconic chainsaw, boomstick, handgrenades and machine guns, yadda yadda, and the Kandarian Dagger can potentially insta-kill the demon in Gut's armour, dispelling it as it basically acts like ultimate weakness to almost every supernatural threat he has ever faced, especially demons, even if they are possessing a body ala Deadite (which is bad news for Guts if he gets possessed by the Berserker armour), again tho, it all depends on how they scale Ash.
This could easily turn into a Booster Gold vs Cable scenario where the seemingly goofy character beats the ultra-serious character.

Well, goddamn, this is a hell of a matchup. Probably never gonna happen though unless one of the DB crew randomly watches Evil Dead on a Sunday afternoon.

Wait what the hell, The Boys BR reached 2 mil? Since when.
Omnilander. they used the boys BR and Thorgeta as suggested episodes at the end of that episode. Much needed boost.

Okay, the bonus episode was better than expected, and I had low expectations and I'm glad BobaPreds reached 1.5mil, that was my high estimate for its first week so good for them. a pure 3D episode not flopping for once.

I heard about the WIz/Boomstick cameo within the fight, but happy they only showed up for 10 seconds.

the bonus episode is already 1.2K dislikes, so yeah, this episode will be the most disliked episode of the season, outside of Thorgeta.
People are salty about a beloved character losing to a literal who character in a sponsored battle for that who character, I am absolutely shocked by this unpredictable response.

This is gonna become another one of those "DB ******* sucks and this is the only episode I watched to form that opinion" episodes, right up there with Yang vs Tifa, Gaara vs Toph, and Goku vs Superman.

eh i don't think it will have that kind of reputation. there will be salt, sure, but DB was very transparent that this was clearly a sponsored episode. they included wiz and boomstick in the fight, that never happens outside of Joke/unofficial episodes (MachoAids/Boys BR). So any upset people can just disregard this episode all together.

I liked the episode and I will disregard it. It's a bonus episode, a commerical. I am not interested in Warframe at all, and I really doubt many DB fans will flock to that game even if this episode becomes a decent hit. A Death Battle is not a proper way to promote your stuff I must say lol.

Views wise, I predict another 1.5m in the first week for this, maybe even less.

Unironically, what are all speeds feats in Warframe and for Exca? What I rambled might factor for Exca too.
They somewhat have Raiden at 11.7% speed of light while Excalibur has been given at 9.4% c.

... And then they give Excalibur arsenal to freeze Raiden to slow his speed as well as dampening his high frequency blade's durability negation powers. Then let Excalibur AP stomp Raiden. Great. Job.

Oh Jocelyn has been promoted to IT Girl since MachoAid. What is she going to dish at the table at the cost of a possibly shortened DBX.

also i find it funny everybody (myself included) called Excalibur a literl who, but the guy scored 240K views on his preview, more than Raiden, and more than Thor, Tanjiro, Jinx, Harley, etc and a bunch of Season 8 characters.
Warframe bros may be a stronger force for clout then we gave them credit for, lmao.

If nothing else, atleast their community can enjoy this episode, it's a way stronger debut episode than a lot of other fandoms got.

Also, Metal Gear stays winning with 3 fights atleast 9/10. Avatar fans are struggling for a single 8/10 out of 4 episodes.
