Just gonna say Boba vs Predator is really gonna depend on if they scale Boba to jedis like Legends Luke and Vader, if they don't then Predator pretty easily wins.

Not counting Rebecca Black vs Justin Beiber, or any obvious Season 1 choice, my vote would go towards Shadow vs Mewtwo or Mario vs Sonic 2. I could go on about how straight up rancid both of those two episodes were for a long, long time.

Yeah, these two genuinely might have two of my favorite analysis segments period, even with both of them having some stuff that got skimmed over. The only things I didn't really like were the cutaway gags, but I've never liked those so I can't really mark points off.
 
So does anybody have like, a list of actual connections between Sakuya and Hit?

Whether you like the matchup or not, I just want to know what lead to these two being matched up for the purposes of something I'm working on.

Mewtwo VS Shadow wasn't supposed to be a spite match, the animation being shit on purpose was out of their control. Shame because it had a cool track and a connections chart, I don't think Ben ever did something like that again
Starscream VS Rainbow Dash was mostly "we don't wanna kill the character for kiddies!!! we might traumatize them!", doesn't justify it but it's kinda funny after seeing what they did to Ben

At least the RD vs Starscream fight has the benefit of being correct. It's also season 1, so you can't judge it too heavily and besides, I'm biased and like seeing the horses on DB.

Shadow vs Mewtwo is not only debatable and possible incorrect even by their old research standards, but it was also poorly handled after being sabotaged, which makes it feel like way more wasted potential. That's definitely my pick of which is the worst of the two.
 
Honestly I want to know what episodes the team feel like yeah "this could've been alot better in terms writing and animation"

Like there like us honestly hell Ben didn't like Goku vs Superman 2 and it's his least favorite episode on the show and one of the Researchers didn't like how Bowser was done in his episode and done mad dirty
 
in the recent fireside chat, they said that Vegeta vs Shadow is an episode they want nobody to watch, Swan has also said in a cast that there were lessons learned with Sindel vs Black Canary, whatever that means. However, since I pointed it out, they are proud of Mario vs Sonic 2 since they have it on the top 20 must see DB episodes, so take that into consideration

723k before I go to sleep with Herkong, pretty dang good for an unique episode with trending to boot! I think episodes like Thorgeta, Tanjojo, and Saitama vs Popeye were still in the 600k range before i went to sleep, so yeah, it's keeping up with mid/upper-tier match-ups.

For me is by how they wanked Geese, imagine claiming FTL when your opponent has some arguments for it and also using a vague statement for tier 6, when again your opponent has more of these and more consistent with other feats

Even though Bieber vs Black is the worst ep, it honestly isnt worst when actually judging it.

Why is Bieber vs Black bad? Because they made an ep about killing kids because... they made music? Thats ****** up, and thats why I agree people listing it as worst. But really, DB community? The one that has people send death threats? No one really cares about kids being treated badly, rather its just it being the worst MU in DB by far. And thats wrong way to judge it.

Now massive caveat, its only ok as a shitpost, mind you very outdated one. Watch it now as new, and itd prolly be much worse. But I watched it then, and it was fine. MvS2, this is how you do a Dorkly episode.

I havent watched it in years, but just remembering stuff:

  • Boomstick hate rant intro at start is great
  • Black being Bieber fan is such an amazing connection
  • Bieber using spray against Black because he used one against a fan, how does it fit so well
  • The cold hard kick to the balls by Black is no sold, making incredible double joke, not to mention kick had a lot of weight in it
  • The heads plastered into Scott Pilgrim bodies look good in very dumb way
Bieber vs Black is the worst episode, but somehow its also not the worst episode.

I'm considering making a video aimed towards the Touhou community, specifically those somewhat unfamiliar with Versus Battling, which generally overviews Hit vs Sakuya as a match, and why Death Battle as a channel even possibly covering/actually covering that match is/would inherently a big deal within the community.

I've noticed that a lot of people, especially within the 2hu community (or at least, 2hu twitter) aren't the most familiar with Versus Battle stuff, so I generally wanted to generally make a video that introduces some Versus terminology, discuss why this matchup exists, and then lay the groundworks of the various forms of scaling for Touhou characters and such.

I ideally would like to have it finished and then hopefully upload it in the couple of week long leadup before the fight would happen should the match ever actually happen

Should the match ever be deconfirmed or likely I'd probably just retool the video into just a general discussion about the matchup in general. Or if it just takes them too long to do the fight I'll probably just eventually post it regardless lol.

Are you planning to make other VS-oriented Touhou videos or will you just do one for Hit vs Sakuya?
 
Does anyone have a general scaling guide for how Death Battle ranks / rates Dragon Ball characters ? Especially from Super onwards. I have a decent level of familiarity with their stats, but not every reasoning for them (even though most things are just scaling off of the Goku and Beerus clash).

If there's a nice succinct place to generally go over DB's reasonings and and calcs that would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on how this Hit vs Sakuya one goes depends on what I'd plan.

While I'd love to one day make a full blown Versus Series, I know that's currently well and far out of the question, so I might just make general videos discussing a matchup as a whole.

Kasen Ibaraki vs Fleetway Sonic is essentially my baby as a matchup, so I could definitely see myself making a video about that one for instance.
