Well
  • Both characters come from ye-olde British / bars-and-broth backgrounds with a hell of a lot of swearing.
  • Both have transformations into various demons, or at least have dealt with demons in some capacity.
  • Both have been in rag-tag bands with their respective leader(s) or strongest member(s) having ties to an important designation of people or concept(s) (Belmont Family vs Mark of the Outsider / MAYBE Arganan Family if you really want to stretch).
  • Both have swords (no duh).

There's probably more, but that's the bulk of it.
