OK seriously was she actually reading ****? Is that just a thing she does?
She’s most likely reading Ninjas of Love which is debatably ****. In RWBY Chibi however, when Ruby reads it, a page flips open, most likely revealing a picture and causing Ruby to say “Now that’s a Katana.” Then Blake gets all anxious looking for her book, only for Ruby to scold her for reading filth, to which Ruby proceeds to take it to read it some more.

Maybe it’s like Hulk vs Broly where the start is a bit janky but the fight ends up amazing.

The animation is absolutely gonna have to hit it out of the park if the MU isn’t interesting, or this will be the Season’s weakest episode so far
Broly vs Hulk wasn't janky, the movements were weird, but not janky
Blake vs Mikasa's beginning on the other is... Yeah, it's jank

Mikasa attacked blake first and blake literally shouted "leave me alone" when she counterattacked, blake is not in the wrong here

also she can handle herself against titans anyway

Let's also remember what Might/Might looked like at first, very similar to this
I mean tbf Mikasa is trying to get Blake to leave and Blake is clearly not listening. It isn't like Mikasa knows that Blake can handle Titans. Blake overall is actively disobeying the authorities here.

Nah there was definitely some jank in there. For me it keeps it from being as awesome as everyone says it is.
Nah there weren't any jank in that one
******* literally Sasuke vs Hiei
Literall poster boy for that
Ah, so it actually a good start because there isn't a definitive "Good guy" or "Bad guy" and both can be argued to be on either side of the spectrum.
Yes but honestly Mikasa looks far more favorable in that regard despite starting the fight
