Honestly, matches like Kyle vs Simon and Sinestro vs Terumi are less "DC needs to lose to something that isn't Marvel" (Though that's certainly part of it), but it's more so a DC Herald needs a match against a non-marvel character that isn't incredibly devisive. Let's list the DC Heralds vs Non Marvel matchups, shall we?
On an only partially related note, Ghost Rider should have fought Spawn and they should have had Deadpool fight Lobo for the Spite Match. The Mask vs Deadpool only works as a spite match because they wanked Mask's toon force to hell and back, it's actually a fairly hard to determine match by our standards.

Fun Fact: Ben's universe runs on Multiverse Theory, so Hal didn't even kill Ben, he created an alternate timeline where he killed Ben. Hal didn't even kill "His" Ben, instead electing to steal the kill from his (as of that point) alternate timeline past self.

No, because Hal created a separate timeline by going back in time. In the main timeline the fight started in, Alien X is just floating there, probably chuckling about how little this intergalactic policeman knows about how time works.
Edit: IDK if DC works on Multiverse Theory, but killing someone by going back in time when their universe works on Multiverse Theory really shouldn't be a viable wincon.

Yeah, they said Hal is stronger because DC universal feats are higher than Alien X's, which is true. Although they really should have shown those feats, since the feats they showed for Hal are:
- Several Green Lanterns and Darkseid stopping a universal explosion, which is hardly a feat Hal can scale to the entirety of considering... well... it was multiple Green Lanterns and Darkseid doing it and not just one.
- Green Lanterns surviving Crisis, which was considered to be a feat of Existence Erasure resistance rather than durability
- H̷̠͝e̴̳̚ ̷̝̚w̷̩͒h̴̛̠ö̸̬ ̷͈̚s̴͚̏h̷̯͗ȁ̶̢l̸̢͝ḷ̸͘ ̴̼̍n̸̙̂o̵͂ͅṱ̴̀ ̴̘̓b̸̖̈́e̶͘͜ ̸̼͂n̴̪̅a̸̱̿m̴͉͌ȇ̵̮d̵̛̜
Hal wins, of course, but I wish they actually showed us why he wins. Some people would be salty if Alien X was outright defeated, but at least it would be more accurate than someone who can instinctually detect time travel and runs on Multiverse Theory being defeated by someone going back in time and killing them.
