It would BFR whatever it hits. So if it hit the head, that wod be gone, but if the whole body was hit then it would BFR the entire thing.

TSB didn't BFR any souls. It negated the Edo Tensei Jutsu and as a result the soul goes back to the Pure Land.

Many people refer to a soul as chakra and vice versa.
Techniques that are specifically meant to affect the soul affect beings purely made out of chakra and vice versa.
Tsunade uses 100% chakra based moves and Orochimaru says that she can heal his soul.

From what I know it's just ninjutsu that it negates. You can throw a water bottle at fire style and it would go out.

If you meant Naruto during the Last Movie, IIRC it was discussed that what he did was something similar to what Obito did when he was the Ten Tails Jinchuriki. Obito brought out the Ten Tails to recreate the Shinju.
We can't assume that they completely brought them out. IIRC it was something along the lines that Naruto only brought out 50% Kurama or whatever.

Gaara's sand is a byproduct of being a Jinchuriki. His sand arms are just the manifestation of Shukaku. He qualifies

U forgetting the whole "garaa ur mom is the sand stuff?"
Either way, it does not qualify as the thing is just u putting chakra on the sand so that u control it the sand has not shown any type of NPI etc.
