But it seems hard to think of another way to categorize them, what would you do to replace them?
 
Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this but: a friend has created an account, it has been validated but when he tries to connect the wiki says that his account has been rejected, and I can't see where this problem is coming from.

Somebody please close this thread. The OPs and only people arguing in favor of the thread have seemingly abandoned it, there is seemingly no solid consensus on even a single one of the thread's premises, there has been no meaningful discussion for nearly 3 months, and people are bumping it just for the hell of it. It has no reason to remain open.

Let's wait with that please. We do seem to have quite a lot of staff and retired staff evaluations in the thread in question.

And none of them really want much of anything to do with the thread. Even Saikou, who was one of the main people pushing for the downgrades and is a retired staff member, has abandoned it. This is exactly like his prior abandonment of another downgrade thread, which was closed without much issue.
 
Well, staff members leaving in exasperation is not equivalent to all of their evaluations being rendered null and void.
 
They didn't leave because they were exasperated (save for Promestein iirc). They gave their opinions on, at most, 1/5th the total revisions covered by the thread, and then left of their own free will. If they are simply unwilling to continue engaging with the thread, especially when there was an ongoing debate at the time of its abandonment, then their evaluations should hold less weight (and again, may I remind you, the majority of the thread wasn't even evaluated. Nobody has even touched the tier revisions, one of the largest parts of that thread, to my knowledge).
