Aigis vs Lancelot the redux

Designed for doesn't mean "only useable on".

And even then, she was designed to fight Shadows in general, and all of her other techniques work on people just as well.

Designed for does mean it has the possibilty it would only work on it, just like numerous other abilities that would only work on a certain thing. She was created with the knowledge of Death and Shadows, Berserker is neither of them, the only reason her attacks work on Berserker is it holds a certain mystery to them due to being desined to harm shadows.

Yeah but the problem is that we don't know if it only works on death or not or if there are other circumstances needed for it to work, since she never uses it again, you are saying it works on everyone despite having no actual feat it would work on anyone else despite the claim of Aigis being made specifically to beat death. And this works against the fact that she won't ever do this again in character despite being in numerous near death situations.

Yeah. "Invulnerability to modern weapons" isn't gonna stop sealing if that's what you were implying. Even going by your logic the sealing is designed for shadows too so it has enough mystery to work on Berserker.

There's no reason to assume it only works on death. She hasn't been in a situation where she needed to use it since because she's been fighting alongside the party.

There is reason to assume it could only work on death because there are multiple other sealing techniques in fiction only designed for certain things. And even if it works the process is unknown, we don't know what Aigis needed to perform it. Is it possible in long range or did she need to surprise death in close range, were there any preparations needed beforehand, is it possible for the vessel to be anyone, is it possible to escape physically or did death need to be restrained, Did she need to hit death for it to work, would it only work once, All we know is she needs a vessel. That's not enough info to say she could use it on berserker.

I mean she didn't do that against Death so not really.

Also like I said before, we don't need to know the exact method when it's shown she can easily use it mid battle against a stronger opponent. All she needs is a vessel. Just because the method isn't shown doesn't mean you can just add on a bunch of hypothetical restrictions.

We don't know how first fight happened and only how it turned out so saying she didn't use orgia mode then is not exactly true and she got defeated easily the second time. The first sealing was extremely circumstantial because makoto was nearby, and it was a statement without showing the actual feat so we don't if she can just easily use it or not. And the only way this can be easily done is if the sealing is tied to her persona and not an external factor

Sealing is a last ditch effort, especially with her character refusing to do it again, why would she not use orgia mode first which is in her usual repertoire and the gap between them isn't so big that she thinks it would not work on him and berserker isn't a big enough threat to the world that she would even consider sealing mid-fight. The most likely time she would even consider sealing is when could she literally do nothing else or Berserker closes the distance and then unleashes arondight, and then she would have to search for a random person at night, abduct him and use the sealing.

That's a bit of a mismatch if it's SAlter, she has unlimited mana and a greater regen, she can just literally spam Excaliblasts without any mana drain.

With the Excaliblast restricted obviously, thats just mean. Without it, SAlter has to cross 4km to actually swing at Aigis with Burst Air hence why her mad defenses and regen are fair game.

....

Ok

Rereading the thread, the reasons for Lancelot are the plane plus mad skills let him dodge what Aigis sends at him, he can return fire with his abundance of weapons, we don't know the specifics of her sealing beyond stuff entity in a "random" kid's body, Lance will be pretty close by the time/if his plane goes down and he holds a large advantage in cqc even before using Arondight to amp everything.

And since I never actually said it before, Lancelot for reasons above.

You mean the plane that still won't be enough for him to catch up as I've said before?

Not knowing how the sealing specifically works means literally nothing... and even if it didn't work it'd be incon since he can never catch her.

What the sealing does, whether it's actually applicable, fast enough to be used without escape, is certainly far from "Literally nothing"

We know what it does, and whether it's fast enough to be escaped. I said why more than a couple of times, but I'll quote myself from before.

"The process is unknown, but it's convenient enough to where she could switch strategies mid battle, and do it to a much stronger opponent on a whim. The conditions when fighting Berserker are similar enough to assume she'd be able to do it."

There's also zero reason to assume it wouldn't be applicable.

What about the fact Berserker being placed in a person would result in him burning their body just from the sheer amount of mana he is made of? Not to mention his already supernatural luck, amped by Protection of the Fairies and Arondight which then gets doubled will drastically decrease the odds of him getting sealed.

We kinda went over the whole "mana" thing already earlier, but has luck been shown to resist sealing before?

It's not "There's zero reason it wouldn't be applicable" you have to show that it Is applicable.

Sealing especially in multiple different cases requires an enemy to be perfectly Still or defeated first.

What's being argued is basically "she only ever used her sealing on a single being so it only works on that being". That's in essence like limiting every form of sealing ever to only work things they've only been specifically shown to work on. To put it in reverse, if Lancelot had sealing for example it's like if I was to say "It doesn't work on Aigis because it hasn't been shown to work on androids".

And her sealing doesn't require either of those conditions.

She only used it once?

Sure as hell isnt using it against a single being she has never met or even knows

...

She hasn't needed to since, she's been fighting with the party. I'm just repeating the exact same arguments I made earlier at this point.

Egh, my last post had a bit more "attitude" than I usually like to display. You probably weren't offended, but sorry for that anyways.

She's shown to use sealing when there's no other option to defeat the enemy. She hasn't used it since because she hasn't needed to and/or didn't have a proper vessel. Against Lancelot, she'll use it if she sees it as her literal only victory method, which it might honestly be.
