The creature's barbed tail thrusts toward your face, aiming to impale it.
(Took me quite a while, there's been a power outage. Sorry!)
Evelyn, who has been asleep this entire time, was hearing and sensing the bout ongoing. For far too long has she heard their grunts and groans, the beams of light and this creature's foul noise. She had been seeing it all for far too long, and her innocence has been abused time and time again for people to abuse.
Before anyone could make their move connect, before the air and the intentions could make clear of what was about to come. It... suddenly didn't. The light stopped, the tail stopped, Elide and Tom's place were stopped right at their tracks. Any clock functioning now would cease it's purpose, the designated device meant to tell time... had stopped.
For a moment, the grandlady's eye would open wide, dilating as her body found itself standing upright, her tail scraping the ground as its shards upon shards of razors — her hands and body riddled with tiny blades as she approached the now frozen creature. She examined it must've taken some damage, but this wasn't the nice and kind grandmother that Elide and Tom knew. Rather the one that showed up last time she was on an encounter, an "ego" made to protect the persona of an elegant and demure lady.
She ducks under it swiftly as she blasts a beam of light at its chest, concentrating and focusing it there as much as possible to burn through and make a hole in the lungs of the creature if it has success
That very same lady could very well still recognize the attack her granddaughter was about to do. So, as a means to add to that, she used all the powers available to her to amplify her speed and slash through the creature with both tail, hands, and legs — severing the tiny gaps and joints to inflict the maximum damage — before finding herself right behind him.
And just like movie fashion, the time began to flow as soon as her attack finished.
