Tom accelerated the car at least 100 meters away, putting it off the road, getting out of it with his shovel in hand, he noticed the damage to the vehicle but concentrated on seeing how he could help Elide, he created a small hybrid of a scorpion and an armored beetle but that had a million needles all over its body and he put it on the ground and then hit it with the shovel with moderate force towards the creature.

He wanted the creature to be hit and for the poison of his creation to take effect.

The projectile hits the creature, poking into it. However, scorpion venom in small doses is not especially deadly to large creatures, and this only serves to irritate it, whipping its tail, which you now realize resembles that of a scorpion, around.
