DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

IDK I think you can make an argument that at least they’re similar given the sheer amount of loops you need to jump through over the other. “Denji scales to this thing whose unworkable physics we can just smudge into large enough numbers (even though he got torn in half by it at the same time), so he wins” is at least very bad in mental gymnastics compared to the conclusion that a much more tractable—but wrong—calculation gave enough tons of TNT to sway the conclusion (the Sun Disc). Unless we’re saying the researchers blatantly rigged the episode.
It's closer in comparison to Maka being scaled to Asura's madness pressure feat, because they outright ignored the immediate next page that said it was actively killing her and would have killed her if not stopped, like how they scaled Denji to clashing with the Oregon sword and ignoring the next panel where it shattered his chainsaws and cut him in half

DB really went and pulled a Maka 2.0 with that Oregon Sword scaling

Explain how it was that Yuji's individual attacks cut through Denji, while DE was useless?
Also, why is Denji able to regenerate, even though Yuji's attacks seem to block regeneration?

Speedy finger wagged Dragon Ball fans about how basically they don't know how good they got it because Death Battle 'ignores' Dragon Ball's outliers and brought up King Piccolo being city level.
This is all true though. For all the crying dragon ball fans do about death battle, death battle is ultra generous with Dragon ball characters all the time. It was great having bardock lose, he wouldn't win anyway.

Didn't they say that soul attacks interfere with normal regeneration? In all the other bloggers' analyses, I heard that Denji won't be able to regenerate attacks after DE.
Think they're referring to the soul shit in JJK which isn't standard in other stories.

The video itself is there simply for hype and aura. There will be a fight that seems close even if it's a one sided stomp.

Here they decided Pochita was Relativistic and High 6-C and Yuji was low end MHS+ and Low 7-B.
By their own research Pochita/Denjiman would just decapitate Yuji frame one.

Episode was fine.

The editing was neat, and I think the 3-D animation is pretty damn solid and had some pretty good choreography. I really liked the contrast of Denji fighting dirty in comparison to Yuji being more skilled.

But I feel it really could've benefitted from having better environmental destruction and I feel the theme song was kinda.... meh? Like it's not the worse, but I noticed it kinda just felt bland.

Analysis was ok for the most part. I think Denji being faster is fine, but I think it's very weird how they NEVER cover Yuji's blood manipulation and poison being a factor once? The biggest that bothered me was Pochita's scaling to the Gun Goddess and Oregon Sword that I feel others have already pointed problems with.

But other than that, it was pretty aight. 7/10.

That Denji AP scaling was some bullshit bruh. I'm fine with him being faster but scaling him to Yoru's stuff is just WHAT
Scaling it to his chainsaws is not as much of an issue as scaling it to his durability, especially when it split him in half and there is much better grounded stuff to go off regardless.

so does Sentry resist plot hax? Because off the top of my head i'm pretty sure Prime should resist Sentry's molecular manipulation and mind hax which is essentially his whole shtick.

This honestly should've been a slam-dunk post-analysis for Death Battle, and they still messed it up.

All they had to do was explain that Denji with Pochita outstated Yuji and speedblitz's him due to JJK's horrendous speed scaling.

but they just had to bring up the stupid Oregon sword and now we have a new sundisk.

Idk, watching it again, it really did feel the stuff explaining Yuji's stuff just felt really barebones, and the episodes kinda doesn't do a great job at showing off his toolkit, and I think the choreography mostly carries it.

Kinda reminds of what happened with Dante in DanteClive.

Eh? I feel Yuji's blood manip is a lot more complicated than just regular poison but it feels damn weird how it's only a black box when blood manip is a pretty big ability of Yuji's.
For sure, but I buy Denji's strong resistance for the most part. Especially considering they misconceptualize it as regeneration when in reality it just weakened the Violence Fiend by inducing a crazy amount of poisonous toxins to keep him weaker than normal. And note that regardless he was still pretty strong.

Now bump that up to a Devil on the level of Pochita.

Edit: It would have been entertaining to see Denji fight through it though.
