Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

I don't know why it needs to be said when the two are the same planet and same universe. Would the planet out of nowhere mysteriously change size?
DB´s Earth never changed it´s size since it was never stated to be 4 billion km longer lololololol

Dr. Slump world has some differences in relation to DB´s world, like the dates of the events being different and Dr. Slump having a f#cking talking sun, but if you would like to argue High 4-C Saiyan Saga Goku then i will not stop you

It's the same world.

In DB too, since Sol brushes his teeth at the beginning of Arale's episode in DBS.

It's basically jokes + we see it from the point of view of characters who have toon force.

Me when joke:

Because Arale was in it?

Basically what molds, rules and makes Dr.Slump world´s so different of DB´s world, of course

Both series clearly have different continuities that were never meant to work together outside for a few gags, crossovers, and minor references.

Let's clarify one thing, Dr Slump exists next to the city where the canon events take place, but we can consider that the multiverse in Dr Slump exists in a different dimension on the same plane as the timelines all of this existing within Dragon Ball of course.
If i ain´t wrong, Toryiama already stated that DBGT is from an alternative timeline in relation to that of DBS (With Dr.Slump characters already interacting with the characters from this timeline)

Yes, that is stated, on the toei timeline confirmed that it exists, Akira did some things in the anime too, but we take this to a separate timeline

The Dragon Ball website also states that it is part of the Dragon Ball Universe (he's a GT character)

Films like Janemba speak of a different dimension

Because Arale was in it?
That's what I said below, we see these things from the perspective of characters who passively change reality, so it's kind of obvious that around Arale things like this would happen since she has plot hax and other passive things.

The series have the same continuity, basically all media shows this.

We literally scale the canonical Arale for Goku in her profile. If the series have different continuities, we wouldn't give a feat from Arale from DBS to the canonical Arale from the dr.slump manga in her profile.

You shot me in the foot with that point.

This was removed as evidense alreeady, GT and Super can't happen in the same timeline

In Dr Slump the continents are shapped differently and real life countries appear in it

It is.....factually different from DB's world
If they are different worlds then the Arale canon should not scale to the Goku canon.

Since if Dr Slump's world is not the same as DB's, then Arale from the original manga and DBS shouldn't be the same.

If Beerus had done his job properly, Goku Black would surely have been dead the first hour he set foot in another timeline (if it had been another serious God of Destruction, I'm sure he would have ended Black right there).

Sigh 😞
Since I am require to step in at this point I might as well

Beerus can't get scale for dr.slump characters because it is said to be an outlier, can someone tell me why it is alleged to be an outlier?
To answer this question,
It’s because Beerus and/or Hakai has no indications nor implications to being at that level prior to episode 69 and even after episode 69 nothing else further substantiates not supports it.

The Hakai being 5-D is literally dependent on episode 69 and one single instance plus scaling to a Gag character from an inherently different series twitch characters that operate under different sets of rules and logic.

Scaling Beerus and/or Hakai to 5-D based on just episode 69 and no other prior nor further evidence plus scaling off gag characters is pretty much an outlier and not substantial enough

I've never even seen a scan of it, and if I had, what would contradict that size? Just asking.
Here’s the basic presidency for this:

When it comes to DB and Dr. Slump, Dr Slump is only to be used as a secondary source of information when trying to upscale DB

Information established in DB is primary to DB and information established in Dr. Slump is primary to Dr. Slump

For Dr. Slump, it a series filled with blatant inaccuracies and contradictions and the characters themselves are aware of it and call it out numerous times and in the end all the contradictions simply work because the characters themselves accept that there series is a dumb manga / stupid cartoon and anything can happen at the authors / plot’s whims and that’s the nature of their reality and where a consistent story is blatantly said not to exist

For Dragon Ball, it is a far more consistent and logic based series that doesn’t intentionally break the physics of the world time and time again and has consistent narrative and character / world development.

Dr. Slump and DB do share the same planet and same world as made clear by a long list of evidence but how their worlds and system of logic operates in entirely different

As such being the case,
Dr Slump can use information from DB as a secondary source as long as it doesn’t contradict much stuff in their side
And vice verse applies to DB, it can use Dr. Slump established information but ONLY as a secondary source of information. Any information directly established in DB is primary information and will take precedence over information established in Dr. slump

An as far as the 4 Billion Km Earth is concerned, DB has its own primary established information that contradicts it with its own established size. So as such, it’s unusable for DB.

Because Hakai was never showed to be near as powerful as it was showed in the crossover
For something to be an outlier there needs to be evidence that contradicts a feat, not a feat being above what's been shown before, especially with such few instances of it, and especially when Beerus' Hakai is visibly different from the rest, we can't just assume it's the same.

There's no contradictory evidence, as far as I'm aware to suggest that Hakai, or the one that Beerus uses, isn't as powerful as it was in that episode.

I also think the same thing, to this day i still don't understand why they call Bills in Beerus
That's because the Gods of Destruction are named after various alcoholic beverages, which makes their names puns (kind of like Saiyans being named after vegetables):

Beerus=Beer
Champa=Champagne
Iwan=an anagram for Wine
Heles=Helles, a German beer
Mosco=Moscow Mule
Quitela=an anagram for Tequila
Arak=Arak, a drink from the Eastern Mediterranean
Liquiir=Liquor
Sidra=Sidra is the Spanish word for Cider
Rumsshi=Rum
Belmod=his English dub name is Vermoud, which derives from the beverage Vermouth
And finally Giin=Gin.

If you're interested in learning more about the relationship between Beerus and Bills, the Kanzenshuu website has a detailed article explaining why he's referred to as Bills and Beerus dependent on where it's spoken in.

It looks like the Dragon Ball manga is going on hiatus, this chapter is the last chapter with Akira's script, from what i saw, it looks like there's going to be some sort of canon split.
