Well, mostly Gaara anyway, especially on the novel, which I don't mind, he's my fave xter in Naruto
the rest didn't really do much, I actually wish they brought new guys as the kage of each village with some new techs

It's not even just a Boruto problem, Kishimoto has always had this problem with trying to nerf Naruto or slow down his capability to grow because plot demands it
Like for example, there was no reason Jiraiya couldn't have taught him about his wind chakra and taught him a few jutsu via that element over the timeskip
