DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Abysmal dogshit in both analysis, animation, and reasoning.

This surpasses Kratosura holy shit. I don’t wanna be mean to the newbie 3D animator, but WHY were they given such an anticipated death battle? Megamind lost which I already hate but everything about it makes it my least favorite episode of modern death battle.

Wait really the analysis was shit? how so?

I've only seen the original Megamind and the first two Despicable Me movies, so I'm not all that knowledgeable about the scaling for either. But listening to the conclusion, it kinda sounds like they just... picked the winner? Does that make sense, am I crazy?
My guess they didn't want to spend all time explain all there shit so they tried to make it easy to explain to normies.
Issue is they did a poor job of it

after watching the episode, wouldn't Megamind scale reactions wise to Metroman via his gear that gave him metromans powers and fighting a bloodlusted tighten? with like Metroman having that crazy speed feat where he faked his death?

The gear isn't shown to amp his speed, and Tighten being = to Metroman is debatable

Being real the episode was just mid
I don't think it's the worst thing ever the issue is not a lot of shit happened in the fight and felt they were going thru a checklist but primarily Megamind side of things felt lacking in his end
To me personally it felt okay, like not terrible, not spectacular, banter kinda kept me in, the death though left me "really? Is it just over like that?"

If I were more invested in either character or the MU itself, I'd probably feel more passionately about it. But for me it was like a 4-4.5/10. Analysis wasn't funny, animation - in all aspects - wasn't great, and the conclusion didn't do a very good job of selling the winner, to me; it very much sounded like they just shrugged their shoulders and said "Gru wins I guess idk."

Music was okay at least, I guess?

I mean, I certainly respect the effort put into it. I'm not a 3D animator, or an animator of any kind for that matter. I couldn't make anything even close to this. But like, it doesn't really change my opinion? I still think the animation just isn't very nice to look at it. I'll definitely try and be respectful about it, but still.

This is just the "Can you please show a bit of gratitude and respect" shit all over again.

Rooting and Betting Yuji Itadori, hope this episode is a lot better. This is another matchup I am super invested in so they can’t **** up the analyses but my faith has been shaken to say the least.
My only hopes for this episode are that it looks great, Denji gets some good hits in before he gets nuked, and that we stop getting Chainsaw Man MUs for awhile. Love the series, but it's kind of a bummer to see it's characters get washed repeatedly. Especially with the kinda buns ending we just got from the manga.
