Dj and Jacob were behind a lot of ash vs Yugi, like in jokes, the script, etc. the first draft of the fight was nearly ten minutes long. The fight was inspired by the Pokemon movie openings.

The Pokemon vs Yu-Gi-Oh rules were happening at one point, but it wouldn't work feeling closer to bias, so they went nuts.

Origin learned blender just to be involved with Ash vs Yugi. It took him a month to learn the engine, wtf. The ash outfits were made in a day.

Gandora was a nightmare to do because of the lasers. Mog cameo when Excalibur is played.

2026 death battle zero and other channels will be a focus. The D&D channel was thought about in 2021.

*Warriors who hail from a high fantasy nation heavily inspired by east asian culture, specifically japanese in their case.
*In combat, they use a combination of chi, martial arts, and swordplay to manipulate a respective element (Fire for Zuko, Wind for Yasuo). Notably, they explicitly do not use magic.
*Both have a sibling who is noted as being naturally gifted at everything they do (Azula and Yone), and are acknowledged as being the more skilled fighter, while Zuko and Yasuo had to actively work hard to reach a comparable level.
*They are exiles, cast out from their nations as a result of their disgraceful actions in regards to an ongoing war (Zuko was banished by his father after disrespecting him by speaking out of turn in a war meeting and then refusing to fight in a subsequent Agni Kai, Yasuo was forced into exile after he was falsely accused of murdering his village elder after he left his guard post to fight in he Noxian Occupation of Ionia).
*Both have a facial scar obtained from a family member as a result of their disgraceful actions (Zuko's face was burned by his father during their Agni Kai, while Yasuo's face was scarred by Yone's sword after the latter tracked him down and tried to kill him).
*After their disgrace, they began to wander the world, hunting down a person who manipulates air and wind (Aang and Riven) in order to capture them so they can regain their honor. During this time they would be labeled traitors and would be constantly hunted by members of their former nation, including their own siblings who tried to kill them but failed to do so.
*The major tipping point in their character arc involved ridding themselves of a mask they carried throughout their journey, allowing them to accept themselves for who they are, leave the past behind them, and move forward with their life (Zuko rid himself of the Blue Spirit mask, while Yasuo killed the Azakana of his inner turmoil, with Azakana in their natural state being invisible spirit masks).
*They would inevitably stop running from their past and ally themselves with the spiritual leader of the world, a pacifist monk completely in tune with the spirit world who exists as part of a cycle of reincarnation that has been happening for thousands of years (The Avatar and The Karma), in order to stand against an invading force seeking to conquer the world (The Fire Nation and Noxus).

For the DEATH BATTLE episode Ash vs Yugi, that was the worst DEATH BATTLE I have ever seen in my entire life. The worst of the worst!! Ash Ketchum is dead. He is gone forever! That means if he is gone, the whole world of Pokémon has died along with him. And yes, IT IS canon!! I don’t care what you say or think. Nothing is now OK. The world of Pokémon is gone forever. Only Yu-Gi-Oh survives.

A life of a legacy is ultimately ruined. RIP to the Pokémon world. (1996-2025)

this death battle really ignited some nostalgic memories of mine, i remember distinctly in the mid 2000's me and my friend would browse the stores to get the pokemon TGC and Yugi oh cards. i was super jealous when she ended up getting a blue eyes while i hand like multiple duplicates of Exodia's foot lol.

  • Both of them are known heroines throughout their world that have proven themselves to being the strongest in their universe (Power Girl eventually taking the place of her universe’s Superman after he retired/died and Medaka having crazy skills to the point of being considered the “perfect person”).
  • Both lost their parents at a young age and were sent away from their home to a new place (Kara’s parents died on Krypton & she was sent to Earth and Medaka's mother died at birth & she was sent to a facility to be researched on).
  • They would escape from this unfortunate situation (Kara was freed after being stuck in her ship years longer than she was supposed to and Medaka escaped the Flask Project). Thankfully the people they met after this were incredibly kind to them and helped them feel like they had new meaning with this status quo change.
  • Both would later reunite a relative whom they haven't heard from in a long time (Kal-El/Clark Kent and Kujira Kurokami/Youka Naze) who hides their true face from others to not draw attention to themselves or reveal their true identity (Clark with his glasses and Naze with her bandages).
  • These women are known not just for their extraordinary abilities, but also for being exceptionally beautiful which awes pretty much everyone around them, something they aren’t ashamed of.
  • Beyond their beauty and powers, they are also shown to be very intelligent (Karen is an expert computer programmer/analyst and Medaka excels at academics) and are proven leaders in the group they founded (Karen as the CEO of Starrware Industries and Medaka as the Student Body President of Hakoniwa Academy).
  • Despite said intelligence, they lacked practical knowledge for a while (Karen having difficulty getting used to Earth culture since unlike Clark she didn’t grow up there and Medaka not being familiar with simple things like baseball or amusement parks until Kikaijima intervened, being “so smart she crossed back into stupid”).
  • Personality wise they are very confident in themselves, having no reservations about showing off. They also have hearts of gold, seeing the best in people and always trying to keep the peace.
  • They are best friends with a person with no special abilities, yet through training has become great fighter that can hold their own (Huntress and Zenkichi). The two would work solely as a duo for a while but would also become part of a larger group of superhumans who together helped others in need (Justice Society and Student Council).
  • Despite their positive outward appearance, deep down they deal with a great loneliness that people can’t relate to (Power Girl feels isolated due to being from both a different planet/universe & deals with the uncertainty of her true origins & who she really is and Medaka‘s incredible abilities & being treated as special by everyone makes her feel lonely to the point of restraining her own powers to try to better fit in).
  • They both also have quite aggressive sides to them (Power Girl being portrayed as very hot tempered at various points in her history, especially when drinking diet soda and Madoka letting her anger out in forms like the War God Mode).
  • Both have mind manipulation as a notable weakness which has been exploited by their enemies (Psycho-Pirate trying to drive Power Girl insane by exposing her to her numerous origins at once as well as Nike once brainwashing Power Girl and Oudo Miyakonojou brainwashing Medaka) but have always been able to overcome it.

Bought into vague cosmology kool-aid too much for Ghost Rider & Kyle, & thought they would take the perspective of Wile's incompetence & anti-plot armour to its extreme to justify a Tom W. Other than that, Hulk/Godzilla is basically a coin flip & I think most people probably got OmniDock wrong because who could possibly see the Sun Disk coming??

As an aside, I saw this, was curious how people interpreted cosmology on AniPoke compared to Yu-Gi-Oh? Ash wouldn't scale to highest end of Pokemon cosmology anyways either way so it wouldn't make a difference, but this seemed to be getting a decent bit of traction over there:

DB is weirdly wishy washy with higher Ds lately so trying to make Ash of all things near to ******* Simon the Digger is laughable.

The only caveat is that they give too much benefit of doubt to their favorites. Then again, Pokemon isnt one of them so I knew Ash wasnt getting anything to truly beat Yugi, who can get similar stuff easier.

They were riding Rayquaza and had help from Latis who then all 3 Deus Ex Mega Evolved. Not impressed.

I would want to see a scan of that to see if they were engulfed by the blast along with Ray. Cuz like, if a character is on a horse and a patriot missile or smth hits them and they both survive it is usually not because the horse protected them.

And ffs Ash still struggled with other Legendaries like DB mentioned, he is not 4D+ without bad excuses. Dont care if you want "muh Arceus" but fine, Arkeeuus might beat Yugioh cosmos, but Ash aint getting shit from that.

ash has beated several top teirs, tapu koko latis darkrai and didnt roy and liko beat a rayquaza? ash scales above them too (Im about to be fried)
