Basically it’s split into teams for Wiz and Boomstick, with each one having 8 characters. There will be a bunch of events for the champions to take part in after they pick a team and IIRC one team will eventually get booted and then they will do a tournament vote I think. RN They narrowed down the characters into the teams and the first week of events will start next week.

While I think the idea of Champion Island is pretty cool it almost entirely takes up the entire discussion on the DB reddit and there's nobody talking about the fights that are actually still going to happen. In a weird way DB's both increased the community participation in Champion Island while silencing the hype about their actual upcoming episode. Now granted the response to Buffy was a few 'who that' but she's still kinda well known as a legacy character, and the Live-Action fights are always hype (even if the past few kills have been lackluster) Their might be more discussion once Buffy's preview comes out but I don't see it really changing much.
At the very least it's been fun seeing people realize just how awesome Geats is though.

Yeah, I did watch Total Drama a ton, I am familiar with the concept. I am more interested in how will these competitions be taking places? Like, will we get just a flat “Who’ll win X?” Vote (with X being anything, like wood chopping), or animations or text narratives?
