DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Gayest scene in the whole series (Even more than the Blake and Yang kissing)

How do you know more about someone's else's powers than they themselves. She's watching just little too closely

I mean...yeah? That was very much the implication, even moreso in volume 9

That plus Penny sorta just having information analysis as a power

Very very late to this, but since Bakugo's matchups are all flawed in some way shape or form, I'll give my thoughts on all of these.

Rex Splode is the one on most folk's minds right now, so I'll start there. It has some solid connections and good banter potential, but Rex has low mobility and is a bit of a one trick pony. It's also a huge stomp against him. Literally his only win-con is a suicide move bakugo is easily fast and smart enough to dodge. And on a more personal note, it really annoys me how people are obviously just exclusively rooting for Rex and dogging on Bakugo.

The last sentence applies in reverse to Eustass Kidd. At least there the stat gap isn't as bad though. Otherwise it's mostly just okay to me, though in terms of popularity, Bakugo kind of carries that MU.

Jubilee is a Marvel character, so she's automatically gonna be weird for scaling, though I think Bakugo safely takes it. Not really into the choreography, and the connections seem pretty misleading.

I haven't read part 7 of Jojo's, so I can't judge much about Diego, but it sounds interesting at least.

I don't know who the guy in the bottom middle/right is.

Shinra is Bakugo's worst matchup that isn't a joke match, spite match, or generic shounen rival match. You can't change my mind. The fact that people flocked to this entirely to erase another option shows how desperate and shallow the community can be (we'll get to that in a second...)

Raphael is good because it take Bakugo's character seriously, but debate-wise it's a mess, especially if they composite.

Yang is one of the most overhated matchups, possibly ever tbh. Disclosure of bias, it's my personal favorite since the banter, flare, and fist-fight potential all work for me, and I fully admit the connections are thin and the debate is one-sided, but let's be real, anyone who calls this their worst matchup either has a Yang body pillow, a Bakugo punching bag, or both.

That's Rudo, the MC of Gacchiakuta.

That reminds me, is the 2D and 3D poll matchups still something that is in development or is the ToC taking top priority?

The winning mu's, Bill VS Discord and Cole MacGrath VS Alex Mercer, have already been made into eps a while ago in season ten.

Assuming a 2-D/3-D tournament episode and another ToC episode is covering the unknown kickstarter matchups. What do you predict the other unknown fights are gonna be?

Also worth clarifying to anyone who doesn't know, it's already confirmed that Luis and the current 3D team are doing Ruby vs Maka, not Torrian, so his is still up in the air.
Yeah we know by now I'm curious on what his mu will be because he did mention Shulk vs Lighting being one he wanted to do over the years

Doomsday vs SCP 682 being among the mu

If Gohan, Piccolo & Cell havent been in DB yet, Bakugou can sit in a bench too lmao
As anxious as I am to see him on, I'm personally fine with the wait, cause frankly, Death Battle is historically really bad at writing hotheads, or really any good guys with attitude.

I'm gonna be real, I don't see SCP ever happening solely because the complete lack of "official" visual media. Obviously when it comes to SCP there's nothing that's exactly official but I don't know if the DB team want to go to the trouble of having to get permission for literally every second of footage or fan art that they'd need to use during the rundown.
