Interesting…. What are the connections? Funny enough with the way they scale Yujiro in his cast baki wins handily.

• Both are shonen protagonist whose main story revolves around their strange relationship with their fathers (Yujiro being a menace, Gin dipping out when he was a baby and basically challenging him into doing the longest game of hide-and-seek ever)
• Both are fairly nice guys for the most part but are also "different" (Baki is a battle maniac, like everyone else in his setting, and Gon is a curious and fun loving
• individual to a level that isn't normal)

There could unironically be a moment in the fight where Gon asks Baki how one of his attacks work, like his imaginary dinosaur punches, and he just explains it fallowed by Baki asking about Nen and Gon explaining it.
Also their fighting styles are similar enough, Baki is a martial artist while Gon is mostly just punch guy (he does have a hadouken and nen hand sword but still), it's not like he's giving you a loan on an SUV and hitting you with compound interest.
I could probably bullshit some more shit but honestly as a foundation it's probably fine.

I think I heard somewhere that with these Netflix adaptations of games, the second season is cheaper to make because stuff from the first can be reused, especially if lots of CGI was used.

Also DMC is a brand that has a history of...

A) huge gaps between entries followed by new entries bringing the crowds (DMC5 was made in 2018, 10 years after DMC4, and this Netflix thing was released in 2025, 7 years after the last DMC entry that wasn't a mobile game)

B) entries that technically made money but still harmed (and nearly killed) the franchise (DMC2, the reboot).

So, we'll see. I have no faith in the show, even though I had hopes for it before I actually saw it. Let's just hope the franchise survives letting another questionable person touch it.

Given its a crossover they may make Homelander stronger then his canonical version
