DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

We need a battle between two OP Isekai Protags with horrendous fanbases. Maybe Anos VS Rimuru?
Anos anime peaked years ago, Rimuru from what i remember went a route in the anime that bored people till they dropped it, as in no action, a lot of talking

Death Battle should have done isekai fights when they had recent animes running, most people are fed up with how many of them are now, its gets stale

Who's Anos?

Beyonder Victim ONG

Who's Anos?

Ok hearing that made me more forgiving, and them admitting and owning up to something they didn't like. More respect, but I do hope they can make up to those who spent all that money.

Here's their response, if anyone's interested.

(I posted it earlier, but no one responded, probably because I didn't actually describe what I was posted, which was my bad).

Im almost done with season 1 of squid game, man how i missed such a good series till season 2 was out in december of last year

The characters you hate or love a lot, the suspense with the timer is keeping it on your toes, one series Netflix has worth it to watch by live action standards
Too bad what the creator had to deal with after its success...

Squid Game is just live action Kaiji when I think about it....

This is an edited version. Here's the actual clip of the scene (S3, E16: Engine Blocked)

It's funny to think that even Butch Hartman himself was fooled by this, lol
Tbf you may not remember all details of your work after so long, i may have forgot details of my characters if i didnt check them again beforehand to make sure i dont do a mistake later

Sometimes I feel like modern day Death Battle fights feel more like roller coaster rides then fights, like the fight is just the two characters going through all their abilities to show off they have them, like they are checking off a box or list rather than using them to actually fight.

(Sometimes the issue is the opposite, they either skip meaningful fight progression or there is never any at all.)

And honestly I think it comes down to fights being kept short due to budget most likely, and the story board artist.

Dont get me wrong they can make a few creative fights, Eggman vs Bowser for example, (but even then the storyboard didn't have Fury Bowser throw a single punch at the Eggmech), but it's choreography is rarely memorable and seldom goes past pretty basic stuff.

Going back to Torrian, the amount of fighting that goes on in the ending sequence with DT Dante fighting with Yamato against Bayo has more actual fighting, as in strikes thrown, than most entire fights of the last two seasons.

Like the ending sequence to Cole vs Alex is ******* phenomenal, but that's because that animators threw in the two actually throwing punches, something the story board really didn't have.

We get great set pieces and what not, GvS3 final clash, DeathEgg reveal followed by Boswer jumping in front of its laser, but we rarely get anything more than basic choreography. Not that it's inherently bad, but it means a lot of modern fights outside their endings are rather forgettable.

It honestly says more about just how good Torrian was than an overwhelming indictment on what we have today, although I do think the story boards sort of give episodes a ceiling. Like I still don't think DA has topped his Saitama vs Popeye section, where he had no story boards and was able to do whatever.

The tempo of interactions/exchanges during the fights feels either shorter or slower. Either way, we are getting less punches thrown per minute.

Like how peak would the Alex vs Cole final sequence be if they just kept fighting and fighting and trading shots instead of like four punches thrown and we're up in the sky now?

But that also poses the issue of it not fitting within the section of the song it's supposed to. Fights just feels way more caged by budget and blueprint more than ever.
