Armored Core General Discussion Thread

Yeah charting all his different weapons effects is gonna suck
I think the best move would be to focus on making profiles for all of the other major AC pilots first. You already brought up Carla and Rusty but we could also do Michigan, Iguazu, Snail, etc and then we just copy and paste the abilities from their profiles onto 621's profile since he'd have access to all their AC parts and weapons anyways.

Maidenless behaviour! Filthy fatherless attitude! We all know that Pile Bunker is the rule of all 💪😬😡

I don't know what they were even smoking when they made them so OP.

It’s not that they’re OP, it’s that everything else is either so underpowered, or runs out of ammo. If they simply buffed the rifles people would use them more.

Yeah that's true. A better phrasing of what I mean is "Why did they make them so overpowered relative to everything else?"

Wait until you met someone running with anything with needles (stun launcher or missile launcher)
Or worse, Balteus cosplayer (Tetralegs/hover tank with any busted missiles on their back and arms)

My Karasawa rifle need an ammo buff man

I wonder if Fromsoft will do any significant balance patches for the game? I could see them doing DLC at some point at least.

Added shit in the P&A section. Kinda want to use gif examples for each weapon demonstration tho it'll be tedious
About Inorganic Physiology Type 2, aren't armored cores still humans? There just directly connected to the machinery through nerves and the like

IDN since I'm not an armored core vet

The AC mech itself falls under it, although iirc it's largely implied that 621's body is completely linked to their AC since they're never shown leaving it. So I guess cyborgization would be more applicable instead? I'll have to review the cutscenes/briefings to make sure

There is a mission where 621is kidnapped and taken out of their AC. They end up going to a dump and find an old AC that they pilot to escape. Their captors obviously didn't surgically transplant their body to that AC and Ayre doesn't even have a body to do it so...

To add onto this at the start of every mission when your mech starts up it literally shows a heart rate monitor in the cockpit peripherals

Ah, haven't reached that mission yet, but that's fair enough

Speaking on that mission. My memory is foggy but 621 wasn't just left in the dump were they? They were imprisoned as part of 'reeducation' camp yet they managed to escape, sneak through heavily guarded tunnels and finally reach the junk AC to stage a breakout. If I'm remembering that right then couldn't 621 gain some abilities by themselves? Such as a proficiency in Stealth and some form of athleticism for making it there?

I thought they woke up next to it? That’s how the mission starts, with Ayre later saying that Walter planned it that way.

Finally got to that level

Also, caving the Malenia copy's skull in with lance + pile bunker combo is cathartic.

Prior to that we see 621 walking through a field and you can even hear their footsteps. Walter's message continues playing then it fades to black and comes back to 621 opening their eyes and staring at the junk AC. I'm not so sure how any of this makes sense unless part of 'reeducation' is throwing 621 into the dump and they were actually being escorted.

Looking again, maybe 621 is actually swimming? I thought it was an ice field but I swear it looks like flowing water at parts.

Uh either way, 621 is clearly not inside of an AC but they still have a HUD display. He can hear recorded messages, graphs and basic health information such as his BPM. I doubt this is some sort of external device or it would have been confiscated so does 621 have some sort of implant in his brain? Or modified eyes? Something that lets him access this information inherently?

Lance + Pile Bunker is always the solution. Always.
I just wanna know how to dodge his bullshit slash attacks, I can dodge everything else no problem
I believe it's because he dodges satellite lasers in the Sea Spider mission.
Also because there' many beam based weaponry that he can consistently dodge though I do think there should be a discussion on whether they apply or not

Whenever I saw CEL-240 do that attack I disabled Hard Lock and Assault Boosted away for a few seconds then I would put Hard Lock back on and get back to trying to land Laser Lance + Pile Bunker ASAP.

CEL-240 is most vulnerable at the start of the fight because it always does the same attack. You can abuse that to land and easy Lance + Bunker then just get aggressive and land the second one. I believe it only takes two, maybe three, Lance + Bunker combos.

Legit don't think I've used the assault boost on anyone besides Balteus

Maybe I should try the melee build, cause I'm tearing my hair out trying to hit this mf while he's moving and my lock on breaks every half-second

Also here's this for maybe quantifying how fast beam weapons are

There's always the Zimmermans? And I've never tried Tanks before but I believe double Gatling Guns on Tank is OP as hell isn't it? I could see that shredding CEL-240.
