Apparently not.

I do not think that we should remove tags/categories for threads just because they were rejected.

I am using a laptop, though I do use Dark Mode. And I meant to ask is it mobile users who are seeing the underscores on all URLs?

It seems to be mostly present for desktops (light mode). I don't know about laptops, but probably all the same.

I also use mobile and I don't see the underscores. So, this isn't a mobile issue, I think. Though, I don't know if it's just me.

Well, it looks good, but is rather unconventional, so we should probably make official note of that potential solution somewhere, such as in the following page.

I tried, and I'm sorry, that seems impossible for your specific request. There is also no need to make a template as there is a common magic word {{DISPLAYTITLE:}} that serves the same purpose. And this is entirely different from a template; the magic word would be used like this for example: {{DISPLAYTITLE:replacementtitle}}, as opposed to a template that just uses separators.

However, the "|" symbol, or commonly referred to as a pipe character, is often used as a separator for templates, parser functions, and magic words, which is present in the name ●●|●●●●●|●●|●. This is also why I just recently learned that the symbol is considered a "forbidden character" when it comes to naming conventions. A concrete example of this is the page named "MARRS" for something that is actually stylized as "M|A|R|R|S" from Wikipedia.
