Is soul crush passive?

I saw its effect only twice as 1 didn't seem passive as it's from yamamoto to a lieutenant.
The second one was when Aizen merged with the hogyoku in that case I saw it as passive despite I remember aizen saying he was still suppressing it.

It's passive in versus battles because of SBA assuming they are in a battle mindset willing to kill.

But if they were jumped by surprise or something, they could be killed without getting it off.

This doesn't apply to people like Aizen and Yhwach iirc.

It's passive, they need to passively release reitasu from their vents in their wrists otherwise they'd explode.

Basically Shinigami have gills on their wrist to passively release Reiatsu, it's not the same amount of Reiatsu as they release before a fight but still.

Didn't Kenpachi use it against Ichigo and the gang when they first met him? Or was that just bloodlust

If what you're saying is true then it's passive but not as powerful during combat. Cause yamamoto is always with captains and lieutenants but nothing happens to them but when in combat a female lieutenant almost died as he approached her.

Yeah at then it was passive immediately they entered where he was but later ichigo adapted.

Basically yes, but that also depends on Reiatsu levels. Basically anyone who's worth a damn in the verse will still be able to RC the opponent since there's a lot more Reiatsu being produced than fodder Shinigami. Hence why we have guys like Aizen and Yamma doing what they do.

It's also one of the ways they tried to kill Aizen by sealing his wrist vents.

Makes sense just like when aizen did it on grimjow but how come when when aizen became a transcendent being none could feel his reitasu except ichigo? And when ichigo too upgraded aizen couldn't feel reiatsu from him?

But I've seen times characters withstood it but don't remember well.

Yes, of course. But the point is the amount that is released. Aizen is able to almost crush grimmjow by pressing on him, but it doesn't happen all the time
Yep they even sit together and nothing happens and we saw him soul crush grimjow from a distance while weaker Espadas where okay.

Another important thing of note is that "soul crush" is dependent on two things.

Amount of passive spiritual pressure released AND degree of resistance that the opponents have on soul manipulation.

The reason why Aizen doesn't always soul crush the espadas is because they have the minimum amount of resistance required to be able to survive the passive reiatsu that he leaks. But if he was to exert more than the normal amount he passively exerts, he can give the espadas the grimmjow treatment.

But if you have no resistance to soul manip whatsoever, even passive spiritual pressure is enough to give you something worse than what happened to grimmjow without any extra effort.

Oh and another important thing to note is that every battle in bleach is a literal battle of souls so the degree of soul manip and resistance that the verse has is considerably high even at a "crossverse sense" and this is more noticeable with the high and god tiers of the verse where the gap in spiritual power between them and the low and mid tiers in the verse is comically massive.

Hope this can serve as food for thought when considering this topic in a "crossverse" kinda way.

basically dont expect to beat bleach unless you either have infinite soul resistance, higher dimensional to 1-A/High 1-A/Tier 0 soul resistance, or dont have a soul at all

Devil May Cry and Fate for example can beat Bleach, since DMC has 4D (soon to be 9D) soul hax, and Fate has 5D to 8D soul hax

im not sure if The Elder Scrolls can resist reiatsu crush though

I know the Doom Slayer can though, he just got upgraded to 4-D soul resistance thanks to Hell being upgraded to 2-A and having passive soul hax

Having "infinite soul resistance" (hyperbole, but aight) is just the prerequisite for the fight not ending instantly cause then you need to deal with the hax that tite kubo creates out of his ass (Bleach is one of if not the most haxed in shonen).

Obviously higher dimensional vs battles wiki technicality shit is beyond reach c'mon now. Pretty sure no mainstream shonen can step to that.

speaking of doom i should do a rematch between Slayer and Ichigo

He has 4-D soul resistence, NPI, and 1/3 to 1/2 the AP Ichigo has in both the Substitute arc and Ryoka Invasion

still kinda feels like a GG tbh

I wish Doom Eternal Slayer was still 7-A, since his weapons in that game directly scale to him iirc

maybe after the V vs Kiryu match i started i'll try Ichigo vs Slayer rematch

(go vote on that match btw idc if you pick V or Kiryu)

i forget the level of soul resistance the Prisoners have

unless its just 1-A
even 4D and above would make it impossible for bleach to deal with, and they have (at least dova) 4D soul resistance, so they dont even need to be 1-A

however u can also see what matt said bout them, which is basically that everyone on the verse has 1-A soul

Yep thank you but does that mean ichigo friends have resistance since they could somewhat resist his SC when he merged with hogyoku as they were running away.

Why do you need Infinite soul resistance?
Anyone from that's 4D from in teir 2 in HDE above.

exactly what it says on the tin, infinite soul resistance

like Cloud and Sephiroth from FFVII, who can survive the Lifestream
