excuse me, can you evaluate this crt?
Hi, sorry to bother you again but this topic is something I need to wrap my head around for LotR.

"Are there any 'bounds to a writer's job' except those imposed by his own finiteness? No bounds, but the laws of contradiction, I should think."

This quote was used to describe the role of the Sub-Creator rather than the Creator I believe, as in Tolkien himself and other authors in the "Real World", this cosmologically puts the "Real World" as High 1-A+

The "Real World" is viewed by Eru as fiction again, being that Eru is author of even "us" and that's wonderful support for Tier 0.

However, the "Primary Reality" that the Ainur reside in is described as, at the very least, on par with the "Real World" in existence if not above it (depending on how literally the Timeless Halls are Eru's abode. It's the awkward situation of Seraphim around God's Throne sort of thing).

The Ainur in their origin at the very least rival "authors" in terms of existence (with the Valar being granted titles as Sub-Creators in their own right, albeit in reference to their work in making the material world).

So going back to my earlier rushed reactionary comment, would this result in the entire race (and the many existing sub-creators) being High 1-A+ in origin? Was it not only possible for only 1 character to be High 1-A+ per verse?

Of course this is assuming that the transferring of the quote to Sub-Creators doesn't shake the quote's usability too much.

can you give your opinion about this thread please? i'd like to hear them.

I forgot to check for this, but who gave you permission to make 9 posts in this thread?

ig you're implying some form of bias? But....
  1. I pursue permission for non-staff posts in staff-only threads a lot. You're not the only person whose posts I've deleted for that reason this week. In fact, in that very thread I've deleted other non-staff user's posts long before I deleted yours.
  2. If I was tryna shut you down, doing it after letting your posts sit for hours seems like a bad way to do it. I think the coherent explanation given the evidence is that I forgot.
  3. Similarly, I could've been more harsh and deleted your first 3 posts, since you do typically need explicit permission.
  4. Similarly, I could've not been even-handed with that, and kept posts responding to yours up, instead of deleting them as I did.
  5. I only realised the issue because Phoenks mentioned it to me while we were talking about the thread, and he agrees with your PoV.
If you'd like to recover some of those deleted posts for once you get permission, let me know, and I can copy/paste all of them in the replies here.

If you want my honest opinion, the overemphasis of the power of staff members is one of the worst parts of this wiki. The idea that even someone who was adding to the conversation's comments needed to have their comments be deleted just because they're not a staff member is horrid.

I still stand by what I said during the Mario nerfs. This wiki has devolved into politics. And if you're not a politician, your voice inherently matters less, no matter how knowledgeable you are or how long you've been in the hobby. Even if you have important things to say or good ideas that add to the conversation, just because you don't have a little green bar under your name you barely matter.

I can't bring myself to care about this anymore. I'm going back to the Puyo Puyo revisions. Have a pleasant day.

Yeah, I think it'd be better if we just left up posts which said important things, and enforced that against staff and non-staff alike, but we've ended up with this biased half-measure to save on effort. But I think I should enforce the rules as they are, rather than the rules as I want them.

Sorry about that leaving a bad taste in your mouth. I wish you luck in those Puyo revisions, and hope you have a good week!
I'd like to get your opinion here (probably only a 2 minute job)

Can you give input to this thread
Hello Firestorm if you aren't busy your opinion is needed here, thank you

(This is more on the matter of the standards of Big Bangs that create timelines/space-times)
Hi Damage, we need staff input for this thread, can you take a look when you have time?

If possible, could you reopen the Dagon 2-A upgrade thread?

Some question

If we burn someone that literally a fire, isnt that mean bypass immunity??? Burn is fire's property, and we cannot say a fire get burn, because we cannot add burn's concept to fire

So if you literally burn someone that literally a fire without any addition feats like rewrite the law of world, we get bypass immunity of fire right???

Or lets take death for another example, if you death manip someone that literally a death (AE1) you get bypass immunity right???
Can i get your input in this CRT ?
Hello
Can you check this thread, please?
Hello, I am wondering if you could look over this thread? It is a minor thread that proposes to change an ability to another due to being a lot more fitting.
Helo, I am wondering if you would be willing to look over this thread. It is about a undeserved regeneration into healing. Your input would be highly valued.
Hello, i am wondering if you would be willing to look over this, It is a relativly small CRT that just want to change the regeneration to healing.

Hello, I saw that you were listed as one of the most knowledgeable members in terms of Regeneration, And I have a question on what can be qualifying factors to it.

Let's just say we have characters who's body is capable of regenerating from EE, but not their souls, And they also shown to be able to exist(by shape-shifting) As energy or small matter, such as lightning, Wind and even pure energy, And they can come back from these states by transforming back.

Can this be qualifying factors to Regeneration?
Could you take a look at this? It only needs 1 more vote.

I can't speak for the entire FC/OC team but I myself have been pretty against a lot of the stuff that FCOC currently indexes and as I said we're currently conversations to try revising the site and its standards.

It's been difficult with a change of bureaucrat and small staff though. Site is a bit of a mess right now.

As for the Jeff the Killer thing, I'd rather it not be there but, again, currently in discussions.
Fair enough.
But I will say I don't know why we're comparing the Backrooms internet series to someone's fan fiction roleplay lol. Those are completely different subjects.
Because they're both collaborative internet fiction. Multiple people are coming together over the internet to create a story. Since that's the only real connection I can see you drawing between SCP and the Backrooms.
Sorry, I got the impression that you thought FCOC was just a place for fictions that don't make certain vsbw criteria, when that's not really the case...
Certain criteria? Sure. I've already gone there for series that weren't allowed on vsbw, and believe I'd be able to place others there if the tides changes on them staying on vsbw.

ofc they've got their own standards to complicate things, and they're not likely places for works that fail all criteria vsbw has. Still, as far as I'm aware, most media that wouldn't be allowed on vsbw due to lack of notability, or due to being fanfiction, would be allowed on FC/OC.

By any chance would Shinza be included there? Namely as after digging around, it's a rather obscure novel mostly exclusive to Japan from a company that went bankrupt after trying to make an anime for it, so it's far from iconic or notable. When looking it up most results also lean to VSBW.
Bob, that is horrifically strict reasoning to consider something non-notable. A series which had one web novel, two light novels, four visual novels, and two manga, should ABSOLUTELY be considered notable. You think eight separate published works isn't enough? Come on.

I'd expect we'd have to nuke about half of our verses if that was the bar we had.
Phoenks
Phoenks
I think the main issue is a lack of supporters and translations. From what I know the series has only been partially translated.
Agnaa
Agnaa
Yeah that's why it's currently gone.

iirc current translations are unreliable, and no-one's bothering to fix them.

Simply not having the whole series translated isn't actually a disqualifying factor, as far as I know. Otherwise a lot more overseas series would have to get nuked. We'd just index them based on what's available, as if the other stuff hadn't been published.
Can you take a look at this? I'd appreciate it.
