Here is the registration thread for the alternate timeline grail war

Rules for playing are the same.

Rules for choosing NPs and Personal Skills: 3 of each. No restrictions on choice, except only one of the same skill can be chosen, by yourself or by someone else. You can choose what NP and Personal Skills you want, from who you want. However, any outright broken choices OR COMBOS will be vetoed (so no Potnia Theron / CCC / All the World's Desire / etc)

If you want, you can make a very slight alteration to the NP to make it more "your own", like slightly changing the effects to make them more in line with your character, and swapping out or improving aspects of it in exchange for lowered/removed other aspects, but any changes that make it significantly different / more powerful will also be vetoed.

I'll make the stats after everyone has chosen.

Skills:

- Fairies Maddening (A rank): Summons the faeries and spirits of the earth to sow discord in the minds of his foes, crushing their fighting spirit and lowering their strength and agility.

- Incitement (EX rank): A skill that allows one to know exactly the right words to lead the citizens and masses. It serves as a mental attack when employed against a specific individual, shattering their ideals and viewpoints.

- Nega-Saver: On the Type wiki this is listed as a personal skill not a class skill, so I'll take it. The special passive skills of anyone recognized as a saint or enlightened one are negated and resistance to her charming and mind manipulation plummets while her victims remain in one's presence. In addition, the effectiveness of all skills that bolster powers increase dramatically. I'll customise it a bit and swap out "lowers resistance to charming", for "lowers resistance to fear/despair" and I'll remove the "buffs are improved" trait for improved ability to lower fear/despair resistances. Seeing as I'm not actually Beast III, its not as potent, so lets just say that if you are affected, for every 30 seconds to a minute (considering the length of most fights, that's actually a fair amount of time) your resistance to my mind manipulation gets ranked down one.

Weapon: Vlad's spear (no "skewered" effect necessary though) Edit: nvm I'm keeping the skewered effect.

@Edwellken - good thing you only choose requiem for death, and not La Mort Espoir. That combined with Clown's Laughter would be... powerful. Also yeah, that build is definitely Caster.

So I guess I'm Lancer then... oh no... you won't even need Clown's Laughter against me Edwel.

Look for a playstyle you want to work with, and make your build around that. My build is centred around mentally breaking my opponents. Edwellken's looks to be focussed around unblockable debuffing combined with horde swarms.
 
Monarch, if I create my character the way I was thinking, then I think our characters are going to get along quite well. Also, are id_es allowed? They're considered personal skills on their characters' pages.
 
Most of the id_es are kinda overpowered. They are literally described as cheat skills. Which one were you looking for?

You can emphasis certain parts of the skill/NP over others or slightly change parts of it so it fits more with your playstyle. I altered Nega-Saver to emphasise the "lower resistances" over the "improved buffs", and switched what emotion it was targeting (fear/despair instead of charming).

Best not to do any changes more significant than that kind of thing though. I've only changed it so it works better with my character's playstyle.

None really, I was just curious. Also, my character is probably gonna be an assassin looking at what I have so far, just warning people in advance…
 
Here's my character:

First come the NPs "Saraswati Meltout", "Zabaniya: Ichor of Reverie", for my last NP "G├áomì Luózh─½ J─½ng",

Next come the skills: "Aptitude for Slaughter (tools)" A rank, "Demon of the Oni Kind" A rank (I guess Shuuten-douji's, but since having a mana burst with an actual description makes it easier for me to understand I'd like to use flame mana burst instead of heat.), and lastly "Alcoholic Fruit" A rank.

I should point out that this character's battle mentality borders on that described in "Sadistic Constitution", but obviously they don't have the parameter altering effects that make this a skill.

Skill/NP changes:

I'd like alcoholic fruit to cause headaches, dizziness, loss of focus, difficulty with cognitive tasks, and loss of balance instead of just general drunkenness. These are all migraine symptoms which make a lot more sense for me as a person than being drunk, also they aren't all that different from what people experience when they're drunk, so it shouldn't be a major change.

I'd also like aptitude for slaughter to increase the pain felt as well, but in return the skill only takes effect when my character is trying to inflict pain/torture someone, rather than when they're trying to kill someone (since my character's a sadistic torture enthusiast).

These are the restrictions to Saraswati Meltout that Monarch and I decided on:

Using it as an EX attack would only be done with extremely high mana cost (like any other EX NP) and using it more normally (manipulating water/wind for basic attacks or manipulating words, music, poetry or the other stuff described) would be treated more similar to the basic attacks that System Keraunos uses in order to fight, so not necessarily NP strength and with notable mana cost.

Also, my character's "honey" would only be able to damage the mind or body, not both at once, and could only be used in a full scale attack, not normal usage.

In anti-unit mode it would only affect one target at a time.

Anti-city mode can be used, but I don't plan to use it except for in specific situations that I discussed with Monarch in private.

In anti-city mode it wouldn't be harming other servants or masters, but the random civilians in the city.

I know all too well that a plot goes down the drain when everyone knows what is going to happen.
 
Also, Oni Kind Demon is like 4 skills in one.

So each of those 4 skills is only equal to C rank
 
I'm just telling them the rules we set, not the actual usages I plan for it. So people don't go thinking "wow, Blah has a super OP NP, I guess I'll take CCC, Akillheus Cosmos, and Nursery Rhyme."

Alright, but Natural Monster pretty much becomes pointless at C rank, doesn't it (unless my character was going to be so weak that C rank str or end would be an upgrade to them.)
 
True. With the limitations it isnt so powerful.

Maybe, but giving an Assassin A++ rank strength and endurance is a teeny bit overkill. Your build is looking more like Berserker than Assassin btw. Considering the Oni Kind, and the torture emphasis.
 
If you don't want to alter them, you don't have to.

But seriously... Ea, GoB and Gae Bolg? Are you trying to be generically overpowered! Where's the build imagination!
 
Oni kind and the torture NP are actually both assassin stuff. The idea of the build is to catch the enemy off guard and stun them, following it up with the torture stuff.

And Born monster only does the A++ buff at A++ rank.

Edit: Also, torture and assassination go hand in hand. The people involved in assassinations were also frequently used to kidnap and extract information from or spy on an enemy.

Ok, we have 4 people currently. Waiting for Hizack and his meta, and JSW seems to be wanting to join but indecisive on abilities. That leaves one or two more people needed, though we can ignore berserker if we want.

@Red Since you have GoB you could probably do some fun stuff with Hades invisibility cap in the GoB.

Also, I just read through those weapons in the GoB, and you have Caldabolg… despite being part Cu Chullain, and you have Dainsleif… despite probably not having Gil level luck and whatever else would protect him from it. So… please make a running gag in this game that your own weapons are trying to kill you, I feel like you could do that really well.

A danger-avoidance ability that utilizes the intelligence collected up to the current time as the basis, in order to predict the opponent's activity and change the current situation. This is not a result of talent, but an overwhelming amount of combat experience. A weapon wielded by none other than a mortal, gained through tenacious training. So long there is even a 1% chance of a comeback, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning.
