Virtua Fighter
Realizing it would take time to get this classic fighting game series (precursor to Tekken) created by SEGA into a wiki, so here's a discussion thread for that point.

Also, I believe it's time to get excited.

Topics include:
  • Discussing the series.
  • Adding profiles and cleaning them.
  • Discussing feats (I've got some there; the anime's episodes are on Dailymotion and possibly YouTube)
  • And etc./everything else.

Don't know much about Virtua Fighter, but I recall a canon crossover with Dead or Alive that Matt had plans for revising a long time ago.

Dead or Alive 5 may likely get separate profiles akin to Smash and Marvel vs. Capcom (if a Ninja Gaiden/DOA revision goes well, that'll be quite a shot), while VF Kids, Virtua Quest, a 1995 anime (Animation on Game Gear was based on it), Marvel's one-shot comic and Akira no Ken manga are clearly not canon (though its elements were later brought).

So just the games? And i assume manuals/guides
Obviously said, yes. Like back in Marvel vs. Capcom's revival era (when finding magazine sources for Abyss' page), I used Sega Retro for finding guides/manuals as you can see in Akira's page. VF5's character profiles are in this video playlist.

Profiles on manuals also provide scaling as Lau Chan (VF1), he (VF2) and Kage-Maru (VF3 and apparently 4, though Dural interrupted his & Shun's duel) are canonically declared tournament winners in mainline games.

What you think are the chances of a virtua fighter 6

Imo if that were to return it needs to step up its game, especially since it will be compared to Tekken obviously

Dead or alive afaik had plans for 7th installment but after the issues it got, there wont be anything soon from it

Wow, that's unexpected for their 30th anniversary. Though they really should release that (or a collection) on consoles overseas.

Heh, we do appreciate more users there, so thank you. Looking at a blog alone (quote and Bean/Bark scaling), this feels like it could unironically end up in Joke Battles Wiki.

Yeah, I just made some stuff up as a bit of a joke for the moment, but I am doing this in earnest. There's other crossover only fg characters like the BBTAG boss on the wiki, so why not the Hornet?

Also, do any of you know what the point of this move is? I've been cross-referencing Bahn's moveset with the Hornet's and I don't see a counterpart unless this is an Ura Bahn thing.

For Hornet's speed, I could suggest "Superhuman, likely Subsonic" considering how a profile scales and Daytona USA's manual top speed being 325 km/h (though it can reach up to 335). Fighters can also dodge. block and react to Janet's bullets and Rent-A-Hero's Dragon Thunder move (though it doesn't really move as fast as lightning), with the former likely giving Supersonic reactions.

No it’s not. It’s literally just Tekken. Like, Tekken is big, but it’s just a single game.
"cuz the competition is big, especially on 3D"

I didnt mention the other 3D games, i meamt general those on the horizon....also its big, if you are to look at sales, single game or not, VF gotta put effort to compete

I've been thinking about something. Since Pepsiman was in Fighting Vipers and already has stuff listed from both his original game and FV, similar to the Hornet, shouldn't he qualify for 9-A as well?

Hello there fellow Virtua Fighter lovers! I simply come with open arms with a document featuring Virtua Fghter calcs you guys are free to choose whichever calculations you wish to turn them into profile calc blogs
That'll help with separate anime canon profiles too (seeing you used material from them), thanks a lot. It's hugely appreciated as I didn't expect higher feats from video games.

I do wonder how CR (a pachinko game) is canon to the mainstream games and a official text source on Judgment 6 wanting Dural to survive the best nature had to offer (if staff over here asks how and if they'll allow it for scaling; maybe for a "possibly" tier?), anyway.

Huh that's strange I could have sworn the timestamp was already made, I'll be sure to check it and fix it if necessary

I recall seeing people use the Pachinko games for other franchises like Tekken so I thought at worse the same would apply to Virtua Fighter if it had the feats to support the scaling. I thought the game took notes on other outside sources and elements like the anime as well into it's story like Akira's grandfather and Jeffry having children

You guys are free to make any changes into your own blogs btw, consider this blog more like a feat doc in a sense

Tekken uses the pachinko stuff cuz things from them are referenced in bios or expand on game existing plotlines were its the case, let alone is japanese exclusive too

If VF anime has proof as part of canon of the games, all good to me, but im not too well versed to tell if its the case

Well I'm just willing to take anything for the sake of Virtua Fighter getting proper scaling to their profiles. Street Fighter and Tekken got neat in-depth analysis's so why not the franchise that once stood right next to them?

I don't really know how to blog btw lol that and I don't think I can make them without evaluation before someone calls something out

Probably because we're an English wiki/forum and VF isn't that big in the West/Anglosphere/whatever you want to call it... then again, it seems like Xianxia and Manhwa profiles have been crawling out of the wood work, so what do I know?

Please God almighty in the sky let the VF Reboot bring VF back to relevancy ;-;

Now when you said it, Lucia also did a blog draft for Shenmue's sailor-seeking, forklift-certified hero himself (I'll only count the mainline games, interquel manga and anime based on a following reply, though). Sharing here counts even further if you look into it's related origins.

Yeah so encase you guys just want the shortcut method to the Ryo doc
instead of pressing Tony's link lol

I should reiterate that we shouldn't just only focus on calcs to update Ryo's profile on this sight, I also highly recommend adding/changing up his powers/abilities section
