The Gods Of Primal Man

So . . . It's the Stone Ages on Earth, the Upper Paleolithic to be exact, 22,000 years ago. However, rather than the climate being the same as it is in the real world during this time, the climate is actually closer to the Holocene era. After the Fall of an advanced civilization which is the basis of Atlantis, Humanity has sunk into the barbarism of prehistory. The gods on Earth are cruel, and demanding, but they seem to be the only hope Humanity has to survive it's current state.

We are Human beings gifted the power of a god and sent to the Stone Ages of Earth, 22,000 years ago, to alter history. There may be cities, tribes and even fledgling nations at this time period that are noticeably more advanced than the rest of the world, but they tend to be cruel and exploitive. In "real" life, these nations were wiped out by a combination of factors in a way that was so hard, that there has never been found any evidence of their existence. The general goal of your player character gods will vary from deity to deity, basically, the immediate concern of the player gods is to grow stronger so they don't die from their more experienced neighboring gods.

There will be a passing of time throughout the game play called Chapters, and Books. Each will have a theme which will form the basis of that chapter. I was thinking that first we vote on the themes of the Book then vote on which of them show throughout the chapters first.

Domai:

Sphere Of Influence: Sphere of Influence is the certain aspects of your Domain that you focus more on. For example, Athena and Ares would both be gods of War, but Athena would be more the god of strategy and tactics while Ares would be the god of fighting.

The Power of Belief:

The power of worship and belief systems have a noticeable effect on the gods. They don't need worshipers to live, and there are ways of growing in power without worship, but all gods who have a lot of worshipers have tremendous power. You begin with one solitary city state with 10,000 people. The people are far better off than their neighbors, with Neolithic technology, rather than Mesolithic or Paleolithic, a strong knowledge of herbal medicine, and improved methods of food production. As time passes however, the jealous neighboring gods will take notice.

So will we be choosing special powers for ourselves and will we be specific kinds of gods? Like God of Thunder or God of Time?

You didn't give the players anything to do, so they couldn't do anything and had to wait for your imput

Maybe I was wrong. But I will do better and different this time.

So, what does the chosen domain influence?
It influences why people worship you, it influences what abilities you can have, and what abilities you can give your worshipers.

Seemingly what you are the God of and what your abilities are based around, like I am the God of Destruction so im assuming my abilities will be based around Destruction.

Neato! Also, it's Nito! Perfect. Accepted.

So we have the "Evil" big 3 in Death, Destruction and Chaos as well as Order, Justice and Construction.

Emh, I don't know ... the term magic can be used for many things.

But I believe that the most common is the ability to be able to shape the world around you through the use of forces beyond the common laws.

You can come up with a form of magic to be the god of, trying to keep tabs on a god of all magic is harder.
