Twenty-four hours have officially passed since the official announcement had been released. So, now let us discuss the apparent sequel(?) to Undertale released pretty much out of nowhere yesterday. Be it its story, its characters, its secrets, and most importantly, where these new characters seem to stand in the tiering.

Let us now discuss the game which has come to be known as...DELTARUNE.

Indeed. Toby basically only gave a 24 hour warning about the game via his Twitter feed. This was sudden for a lot of people, and completely just out of the blue for others.

So, basically, we're going through Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator again. XD

Haven't seen it for myself yet, but I'm definitely following this.

Also, I want to be clear that I think we should treat these DeltaRune characters differently from the standard Undertale characters as we try to place a tiering for them, at least until there's a real solid link placed between these two games.

Since these two games actually seem to have barely anything to do with each other for the time being. Though since this game seems to be releasing in chapters, Bendy-style, this may change.

TL;DR, I want to find some good feats within DeltaRune itself before creating profiles for the characters in the game.

Well, if you look at the ending sequence, that seems to be the case...

Though, again, Chara only revealed theirself right at the end as Kris, after tossing the SOUL into that birdcage. This might have something to do with that whole "give me your SOUL and I will restore the world" bit in Undertale.

I'm also following this, the game also foreshadows at which time it took place.

Plot twist. Chara is taking over alternate game verses as well. The angel you see in smash bros ultimate is one of charas avatars. soon she will lay waste to nintendo, sega, capcom, injustice, mortal kombat, street fighter, the masadaverse, minecraft, touhou, digimon, pewdiepies channel and many more

I've played through the game, and there doesn't seem to be anything really notable in terms of feats. However there was something else that was extremely notable and that was Lancer who is undoubtedly better than Sans.

Yeah, was about to say that. See, assigning feats and profiles to this thing so early seems to me like sort of a bad idea. Why? Well, because it's called Chapter 1. That obviously means there's gonna be more to it than this. So, starting the whole tiering process right now seems like it's asking for massive revisions down the line.

Nevertheless, it would be fine if we keep a record of notable feats from earlier chapters, since they could help to be supportive feats in the future.

I think profiles should be made. We have lots of profiles for works in progress, and we don't know when the next chapter's coming out.

But I don't remember any notable feats from my first playthrough either. We may need to settle for just a low assumption of their power.

I mean, I won't say the profile is bad. In fact, it seems to be well researched. I say it's good enough to stick around, especially since we have nothing else to base these power levels on.

(I was mostly concerned about the Base form being 8-A based off of comparing the power level to Napstablook via in-game stats. But, again, we don't have a lot to go on, especially with the Light World. So, it'll work for the time being.)

By the way, I was really worried at first about making this.
The expectations for my next work would be really high, so high that I knew that no matter what I did, I felt like people would be underwhelmed.

If you played "UNDERTALE," I don't think I can make anything that makes you feel "that way" again.

However, it's possible I can make something else.

It's just something simple but maybe you'll like it.
It just goes to show you that Toby really does care for his fans. He knows he can't create another Undertale, so he's doing his best to create something else for everyone to enjoy. And I can't help but admire that.

What should we place the characters as then if we can't scale them to the original Undertale characters? I sadly see a 10-A (9-C at best) rating as likely for these guys because that's really all they've got.

Wall level for beating a diamond? Do you know how hard those things are? I'm sure it's probably higher.

(The person who created the profile for Kris said 8-A due to their Light World stats being similar to Napstablook, as it still uses Undertale stats there, and carried it over to the Dark World stats.)

Hi, I'm the guy who created the Kris profile. The reason for the stat scaling was because this parallel universe has the exact same game mechanics as Undertale does, albeit with a different currency.

Also, as the original game mentions parallel universes as fact just like Toby does and Chara affects all parallel universes, the STATs must scale due to them being the same ones used.

P.S. Working on the Susie one next.

It is questionable whether it even takes place in the same multiverse. For all we know the other timelines in undertale could just be the ones created by flowey. Although i think it would be better to wait for the whole thing to be released.

Like was said in the Jojo part 8 scaling to parts 1-6 thread, having the same stat and even looking the same, acting the same, and being called the same thing doesn't mean they should be considered to have the same feats. I get that Undertale's stats are much more canon and reliable but still, they seem to be a different continuity.

But perhaps we could have something like "At least 9-C, possibly 8-A".

@Read this post As Toby said in the twitlonger, the whole thing may never be released, and if it does get released it would take years. I don't think we should wait around.

I concur with not waiting to create the profiles. This is the same as when the chapters for Bendy and the Ink Machine was still being release, and yet we made a profile for Bendy regardless. Just because there may be future releases of content that could give these characters better stats doesn't mean we should ignore the characters altogether in the meantime. That's what the Note at the bottom of the DeltaRune profiles clarifying this is supposed to be for, as well CRTs when new feats and reasonings are given.

I think it's a finished enough and self-contained enough game to deserve profiles, but that's up to the staff to decide.

Yeah, try republishing it again in a blog and get it appraised by people knowledgeable both on Undertale and DeltaRune before getting it published as its own profile, SASP.
