Why treat Kirby minigames as canon?

The notion of the megaton punch being canon and useable seems to be a notion that we take for granted and I haven't seen anybody provide a solid argument for why we should, or any Kirby game for that matter, especially when we say that the Classic Modes of Smash Bros. are not canon.

I get that we evaluate on a case-by-case basis, but that doesn't mean we get to treat verses inconsistently. The cases actually have to be different to make that argument; how is a minigame showing Kirby punching his home planet in half (not to mention that it magically reforms back together when the next contender does it) any more canon that the Classic Modes in the Smash Bros. series?

You see that right there is the very reason I took myself off of the knowledgeable members list for this verse.

That, and I haven't played a single Kirby game since RtDL.

I've only played:

-Adventure (NES Virtual Console) + GBA Remake

-Super Star + Ultra

-Dream Land 3

-Crystal Shards

-Amazing Mirror

-Air Ride (played at a friend's house)

-Epic Yarn

-RtDL (My cousin had it, beat it in a couple days)

To be fair I was iffy with stuff such as Base Kirby's Energy Projection, only to have that power implemented to half the verse in Star Allies.

it makes no difference if it is treated as canon or not. kirby's 4-A tier is defined by his ingame feats, not by mini-game feats.

Before anybody says "Why don't you create your own thread rather than reply on others?"…

This one was created because of another one I created ("By the way, if the events of Classic Modes weren't canon…"), so I guess I have some degree of right to reply (please notice the sarcasm).

1) Anyway, that passage was taken out of context; this is the entire article .

2) That being said, Kirby defeats villains that may be 4-A in non-offensive supernatural power.

3) Last but not least, isn't him cracking planets in half a game mechanic too?

You still have to create your own thread for trying to change our entire system with your "non-offensive supernatural power" nonsense.

Your lack of pure logic is also not appreciated, do not derail this or any other threads or blogs with stuff you apply to other verses and we don't.

1) Confirmed; mini-games aren't added to establish canon.

3) Confirmed; Kirby cracking planets in half or sending meteors flying are game mechanics too.

2) "Offensive vs. non-offensive supernatural power" isn't nonsense; characters are better at certain kinds of supernatural power than at others.

- Not to mention that First Form Crowned Magolor is physically defeated by an attack that is boulder level in both gameplay (a system that mini-games use too) and story.

- So applying stuff to other verses is wrong even though they were created/directed by Sakurai too?
